I'm very curious if the finale is going to spare any thought for the dozens of people who 100% got killed for the sake of Rhaenys' big entrance to do jack squat. Because it really feels like they could have written it without that happening if they really wanted to.

I’m an agreement with you that it’s so great how with this episode we really dive into the side of Team Green, particularly for the reasons you mentioned of we are seeing their motivation, how they’re going about putting plans in place, and how there’s even some internal strife within the ranks. It is just a real shame that Alicent genuinely misinterpreted Vierys’s last words. It’s great how you can see the point of view of those who correctly doubt that Viseys said that he wanted Aegon king. One thing that’s interesting that the episode didn’t really delve into is that the argument that either Alicent or Otto killed Viserys and are lying about his dying words, that argument could fall apart rather easily. Reason being, as Otto would likely point out, if he or Alicent had wanted to kill Viserys, they had ample time to do so long before his death. Yes, Olivia Cooke is week after week delivering insanely fantastic performances as Alicent. The way Olivia conveys the conflict that Alicent has to contend with is nothing short of brilliant. Rhys Ifans is also doing excellent work as Otto, this week especially with like you observed his ruthless pragmatism. Regardless of who’s side one is on it does seem a universal thought that no one wants Aegon to be king. Now, I admit that I'm more on the side of Team Green, and when I’m listening to you say how much you don’t want Aegon to be king, I’m saying, “No, yeah, Aegon will be a shit king, I'm giving you that.” I’m thinking that going forward Alicent is going to commit to try her hardest to mold Aegon into as ideal a king as possible, even though it seems apparent that she knows it’s a Sisyphean task, she’s going to try anyway. Bit upset that Bill Paterson’s character was killed, though I loved his big moment. That was the most abrupt Game of Thrones death since Qyburn. Likewise, I liked that Graham McTavish got to have a good moment. Don’t think I needed to know about Larys’s foot fetish. I certainly know that I did NOT need to see that scene. Concerning Rhaenys, I could see her remaining relatively neutral in the conflict to come. One thing for sure she does know how to make an entrance. She also killed a lot of people in the process. Interestingly, those that are on the side of Team Black, or the ones I've heard from anyway, they don’t seem to be bothered by the carnage that Rhaenys caused with her big dragon spectacle. In fact, they seem angrier that Rhaenys didn’t kill the Hightowers more than that she killed the untold number of presumably innocent people. Seems a curious double standard is all I'm saying about that. I was actually impressed with Alicent and Otto in the final scene in that they didn’t run and/or cower. Hell, Alicent even had a brief look that seemed to say, “Just do it. You want to do it? Do it. Let’s go.” I saw that, and said, “Say what you will about them, they held their ground fairly well, all things considered.” I got a good laugh over when you said, “Did my girl not say there was beast under the boards? My girl!” In response, I said, “Yes, I do believe your girl did mention something about a beast beneath the boards. I do believe she said something about that, yes.” I love that you’re really loving Helaena, or “Buggy” as you called her. By the way, I don’t have a problem with you calling Helaena “Buggy” if you want to. And as you mentioned, we still don’t know how Rhaenyra and Daemon and the rest of Team Black will react to all that has transpired in this episode. Not well I'd wager. It does suck hearing you say you get backlash from fans that are more one side versus the other in the whole Team Black versus Team Green debate. Although I’ve freely admitted I'm far more on the side of Team Green, I share your approach of trying to assess the plot and characters. And even with my having my favorites and preferences I can still recognize that the situation’s not altogether cut and dried, and that both sides have excellent characters with understandable goals and/or motivations. This was yet another fantastic reaction to House of the Messy, Jess. Looking forward to the season finale on Sunday, and your reaction to it.

Also, Aemond looks ready to just jump at the dragon with his sword.

I'm a supporter of the blacks but I don't give Rhaenys a free moral pass for killing the smallfolk. I just think that she doesn't recognise it as an atrocity the way we do, because she was raised in a society where propaganda states she's a princess of a dynasty of borderline demigods. I'm also not annoyed at her for not killing the Hightowers. An act of compassion is never a bad choice, even if it leads to later violence.

That’s a fair point you make about Rhaenys perhaps not recognizing the killing of the smallfolk as an atrocity and why she would think that way.
