i get your frustration with doyeong.. i feel like he's the only character that needs to consider multiple things. he has to consider his company, pride, daughter, reputation, yeonjin, and morals so he does more digging and contemplating versus other characters who don't care about how their decisions affect other parts of their life. its kinda like he's the only character that grew up sorta normal (heir to a billion-won company normal) can't wait to see how you react to his ending though

I watched an interview with the writer of the show and some of the cast, the writer said something along the lines of doyeong’s character is supposed to represent the viewers perspective in a way or an observer, which is why we see him asking questions to get information and contemplating his stance. I think the reason I like his character so much is bc im similar to him in the way that we both don’t act rashly and have to consider every single perspective + have a lot of information before we make a decision, especially a big one. I also like to have things confirmed directly to me even if i already know the answer bc it helps solidify my decisions/perspective 😂 he feels like a v realistic character to me !

i think doyeong is trying to whats best for yesol, and unfortunately that means temporarily protecting yeonjin. i think he’ll have his mind made up next episode though.

I totally agree with everyone about doyeong but I want to mention something about dong-eun's mom. It's interesting that a lot of people think "there's no way she can act like this just bc of alcohol" but we're forgetting alcohol is a drug too. And just like the hard drugs Sara takes, it can mess with your neurons, permanently chemically alter your brain and lead to more issues or aggravate and intensify personality disorders or physical illnesses that you were already prone to. Alcohol is so common and easily accessible that I think people forget it actually is a drug and some folks have traits that make them more likely to be dependant on it/get addicted more easily, which is why it's a huge factor in DV as well (take the abusive dad always having soju for example). It was obvious to me bc alcoholism/drug dependency is prevalent in my family so I know I probably have the gene that makes you more likely to get addicted. That's the only reason why I know so much about alcohol dependency and why the mom being like that is upsetting but not surprising to me.
