I am currently rewatching the episodes that I seen so far, I never do this lmao, and I seen what you mean now... Dang, man...

You know I read all these long comments and don't mind lol. I see the treatment but different friends need different things, I didn't think bad of it.. I just wish they talked, I didn't want bumseok to be the darn villain.

yeah its crazy watching the second time around bc he’s fr a victim beat on by horrible humans but you can see he had ulterior motives from the beginning… he’s such a pitiful villain

the only reason why I agree with what sooho said about bumseok latching onto them to be popular is the scene in like the second episode where sieun and sooho start eating together and the whole cafeteria is talking about them being the new top dogs. Bumseok was at a whole different table and the second the people at his table were saying they're cool or whatever he glances over then magically becomes super involved... I also heard that wanting to be popular was like his only personality trait in the webtoon but they made him more dimensional and complex for the show

my apologies for this long comment, just skim through 😂 I didn't agree with the bum wanting to be popular thing. sure maybe in the webtoon but here in the show I just felt like it's clearly not the case. he just followed acceptance. he isn't accepted by his own dad and didn't feel accepted by sooho anymore. sooho would do things that made him feel smaller or as bum says inferior to soo just like when he would get bullied. the bullies just so happened to help him out that 1 time against his old bullies from his other school and that made him feel accepted something he didn't feel anymore with soo so, of course, that's all it's going to take for him to switch "friends" that fast. We all knew bum was already annoyed by soo, so that push was all he needed to have a “reason” to try and come at soo. the push was the last straw for bum (in terms of soo and just in general of being picked on) But i saw a comment that was interesting to me a while ago and makes sense in a way. Bum says how Soo feels “superior” and is why he is annoyed by Soo know. If u think about it…soo-ho does kind of treat bum differently. when seiun is troubled, soo allows him to do what he wants, he lets seuin get his emotions out and stuff without worries of apologies and consequences. but when it's bum, soo-ho is always telling him not to do this, not to do that.. basically “ordering” him around (prime example scene in the cafeteria) just like u said, he didn't need to push him, he was just being more of how bum already felt about him..a bully even tho we know sooho is not, but looking from bum’s pov I get him. Shoot, Soo even got made at bum for not liking how ole girl just went and answered his phone that night at karaoke when his old bullies from his old school called, then went after her to check on her while bum was clearly scared/in panic mode cause she gave away where he was, that was the only reason they found him that night because of her.

i think its true bumseok is chasing popularity, but the reason behind it is because he never felt accepted. with suho and sieun he didn't really have his own role perse, but in this new group he became the center of everything because his money matters there. sieun recognizes that hes acting out because of his inherent loneliness, whereas suho believes that doesnt justify him being a dick and at the end of the day, he was just trying to climb the social ladder. its also true that suho treated bumseok differently before, but i think thats because he didnt feel like he had to look after him as much as he did sieun (never fit in and only studied, got drugged by bullies on ep.1) and youngyi (homeless, jobless). him going out of his way to get bumseoks past bullies to apologize to him couldve been the next step to their friendship developing, but bumseok got carried away and suho is always making sure they never crossed the line. this situation couldve been avoided if bumseok was more open about his trauma and feelings, but thats also impossible since he grew up being shut down and abused by his father so he doesnt know how to communicate properly either. all he sees is that suho doesnt treat him the same as the other two, and i think thats a fair assumption (up until this point of course because he crossed the line this episode 😭).

I agree with you! I was so tired of seeing people justifying bum seok's hatred towards suho when i clearly could not ever figure out just what could have caused him to take out his anger on suho. Like you said suho did not know about bumseok's past but the moment he got to know, he went with bumseok to get those bullies to apologize. And he stopped him from it going too far just like how he did with sieun. He did not let sieun do anything extreme when they were together especially in school cuz he didn't want sieun to get into trouble. bumseok's life is really fucking horrible and i sympathize with him a lot but he was the one who made up things about suho in his mind because he wanted suho and sieun to himself (which is fair cuz all he wanted was to fit in), but then his inferiority complex won over and he changed sides all of a sudden just cuz the new school bullies punished his old school bullies. He wanted validation and he got that from the new school bullies and i know deep down he knew what he did was wrong. We can see that at the end when he breaks down at the boxing ring. But Suho never did anything to make bumseok do such horrible things to suho. The worst he did was push him in the cafeteria but that too was because bumseok has already been acting shitty and suho was overprotective of sieun. He did not have a single reason to go as far as cut his breaks in which he could have very well died or even pay someone to beat him to death. I tried to understand him cuz he's a complex character but I can only understand to a certain extent because the things he did to suho was out of pure evil thoughts. As someone who was bullied to the extent that he was and even abused at home from that scum of a "dad", it makes sense to view even people who never did anything to him as enemies. But suho and sieun were the only people who ever tried to help him and the fact that he let his inferiority complex win over and seeked validation from same bullies that hurt sieun and ended up hurting the only people who listened to him was so evil.

Overall tho he is a very well written antagonist! We can see from the beginning how everything leads to one another and his choices. One of the best written villains in kdramas imo

the silent scream, I felt that! funny enough, park jihoon and youngbin's actor, kim sugyeom, were in a drama together back in 2020 that was a whole 180 degrees turn from weak hero class and the growth of both guys is incredible. next two episodes are really gonna take you for a spin. I honestly bawled my eyes out bc of the tight bond between sieun and suho that we get to see. maybe we could've got to see that same bond between all three boys, but bumseok's flaws and strengths are often what drive his character through the show. it becomes clear to see that he's quickly lost control of himself bc all he sees is what others show him.

honestly man, if it weren’t for your reactions. i would not, COULD NOT watch these last few episodes again. i just be angry crying the whole damn time. the fact that this show brings such emotions says a lot and i love it for that. but the angst is so real it hurts.

When you made that face and grabbed your head because Suho was just staring and babbling away at Sieun, completely unaware of the lengths Sieun was going to shield him from the drama 😭😭😭 ahhh it really does only get worse from here fr
