hey y'all, sorry for the late post. i wanted to make this poll to see if anyone had been running into issues with the videos on dropbox. i thought that this would be a viable solution but for some i had been seeing some complaints about videos being stopped at certain time frames (which shouldn't happen, i pay for that benefit) and also people saying that the videos buffer or something along those lines.

i'm speaking on using dropbox in general without having to use workarounds like downloading mainly. if things work well when you download it, great! i just want to make sure that those who may not have a laptop and stuff be able to have the ease of access.

IF YOU ARE FORCED TO DOWNLOAD VIDEOS TO YOUR COMPUTER/LAPTOP STORAGE IN ORDER TO VIEW - VOTE YES

IF IT WORKS ON YOUR PHONE/LAPTOP WITHOUT ISSUES AND YOU'RE NOT REQUIRED TO DOWNLOAD - VOTE NO

if you are unable to download the videos due to not having laptop/space etc, vote yes and let me know in the comments, please.

i want to ask because i want everything to be smooth and easy on here, i'd rather just post the videos and chat with you guys, rather than having something else to stress about. so if it's weighing towards more people having issues i'll bite the bullet and pay that hefty $250-399 for vimeo service. it's a bit much but i'm sure it'll work itself out somehow - - i hope LOL

i experience issues if i check out your videos Right when u post but if it’s like the next day or a few hrs later i don’t experience any issues (at least in my experience)

Yes, I went back to watch the Parasite reaction and the vid stopped 50 mins from the end. The audio still worked but there was no video it just froze

Hi, yes I experience issues when watching longer videos on my phone, around the 30 mins mark it stops and no matter what I do it won't play past that time. But if I watch it on my computer I have no issues at all. Bris was having the same issue and he said something like Dropbox isn't a streaming site or something and that is why you only get previews of the videos, so around 15 to 30 mins and that the best solution is to download the video, idk if that helps just letting you know.

yeah, me and bris are on the same dropbox account. we're both considering vimeo again at this point. downloading the video isn't an option for everyone, some may just be mobile users so it's kinda like trying to future proof the videos in a sense.

Same as what Yoeli said. I tried downloading the video but it still didn't fix it.

The video kept stopping and wouldn't play. I would have to exit out and go back in to forward to the spot it stopped at.

downloading the video to your local hard drive fixes it, downloading/saving it to your own dropbox likely presents the same error.

Ahhh... ok my bad. Yeah, it was because I'm downloading it on dropbox.

The same issue as everyone, i've watched your videos but it stops at 40 or 50 min. Edit: but really.. you don't have to pay for vimeo, i don't mind having to download it first then watch 😊

Any shorter video I watch is fine! But I noticed when watching your longer videos like your album reaction it would just freeze like halfway through.

Yeah, same as in the past...it just stops and never goes past a certain point unless I download it to my pc or phone. I voted yes but I don't mind doing that. No need to pay for Vimeo imo.

The video kind of freezes and then the audio keeps going, it works if I refresh it and then skip to the part I was on though, so it's not too bad!

dude don't pay for vimeo but yes it sometimes freezes but i download it (it only takes 5-10 minutes) and the video is working perfectly lmao i don't mind

For longer videos such as the kdrama reactions, there videos always seem to stop at a certain point and I’ll have to refresh and go to a point a little further than the stopping point in order to keep watching the video

Short videos are usually fine, but anything longer than 30mins, there seems to be a point where the video freezes, but I just download the video on my laptop and then it works fine

yeah u think i WANNA pay for it? ahaha yeah, it just seems like most people want to be able to stream it and call it a day and i guess some may not be able to download the video yanno? am i thinking too much?

I have the problem with the video stopping early and lots of buffering and quality changes. But, I realized that when I download the video to my PC the problem goes away. I'm fine with that solution. Please don't spend your money.

I personally just download because its easier to use my video player instead. The dropbox player sucks. You can't skip, you can't choose your quality, and when your on sucky internet it just has loads of problems. At least that's what happens in my experience from trying to watch from my phone instead of waiting to go home and use my good internet to download. Im fine with my method though. I personally don't need you to change anything.

I dont have a laptop or computer I can download. So mine froze every couple of minutes.

I always directly download onto my phone simply so I can chromecast it to my tv so don’t experience any issues personally though I was in the past when streaming it.

For me it has worked perfectly fine except one time, I can't remember what show or episode it was (it was probably Bon Voyage or W) but it stooped right at the one hour mark so i downloaded it to watch the last 5 min.

I always have issues. The BTS album reaction, for example, stopped somewhere around 40 min and I couldn't make it work even by downloading it. I had to watch the ending on Youtube.

I've had this issue sometimes, it usually happens towards the end though but there's no way to go around it even if I would refresh it and skip over the part where it would stop at :(
