the whole him having to move is because he doesn’t age so he basically has to change his identity?? i think... the goblin’s nephew (the one complaining about his credit card) was the little boy that was wearing yellow. i don’t remember if you were confused on that or not the time jumps are basically him as human when he’s a warrior then he dies and when he’s resurrected or whatever there’s a time jump and he goes to paris. then there’s another time jump and he’s back in korea and on his first day back he saves the girls mom from that accident. him going to canada & the end was because of a memorial of someone he knows the reason the girl can see ghosts/spirits/goblins/grim reapers is because the goblin saved her. the reason the nephew can see the goblin & the grim reaper is because i’m assuming it’s the same way that the older dude (goblins friend/servant) can see him i don’t remember much about the old lady tbh so i can’t really help u with that but if there’s any other questions you have i’m free to ask!! also i think this drama is amazing but it is one you need to really focus on and learn as you go. i hope you enjoyed it even tho you were confused throughout the whole thing lmaoo

the goblins nephew part, i was good on. the time jumps is what threw me off most, at the end i’m like bro why did i say are they in paris? did he even go? and he did.. it’s just that he went to paris, canada and korea.. the older time jumps weren’t the issue, they were the ones after that that confused me. i figured the reason she could was because she was the baby he saved when that mom died (then got saved) BUT it was making me feel like she was a half goblin or something cause she could touch him, go through his portals and all that. lol plus in anime being half some type of being and human is a thing so it’s a common thought process for me old lady, imma just have to wait and see i appreciate the help definitely feels like u need to really lock in and it’s lowkey hard when u can’t get comfortable sitting in ya chair but i did enjoy it and it was kinda funny being lost the whole time 😂

Yes, the song at the end is from the Goblin soundtrack with Chanyeol and Punch. All the songs in this drama were made just for the show. I do hope you react to both Goblin and W. I love both dramas. :)

The first time I watched the 1st ep i was super CONFUSION too XD I still havent finished this drama (Dont flame me). Everytime people around me go "It's exactly your type!! it's a masterpiece! You gotta watch it!!", my body reacts and does the opposite sighh. But from what I've heard it IS my type with the whole SAD tone and stuff and the historical pinch, just needed to watch along with someone I guess :))

Ok so I’m back after watching!!! Anthony your reaction the whole episode was a mood😂😂😂😂 anyways I will try to explain some things without spoiling the show for you. First thing, pay attention to that green ring cuz it’s really important. When Goblin saved that lady’s life, he basically left his mark on the unborn baby who then becomes his wife (he did not know this would happen). He can literally go anywhere around the world by just walking through doors. The old grandma is not really a grandma (you’ll find out soon enough). Goblin’s family decided they would die anyway so that’s why they told him to walk towards the king. And yes you were right about him being manipulated by that old geezer bastard. The grim reaper and Goblin’s relationship is a funny one but it will improve over time. They are both petty and childish. The reason Goblin had told his “nephew “ that he will eventually become his brother, son, grandfather is because everyone age but him. There was a lot of time jumps but it really is necessary for us to fully understand the history behind the girl, Goblin, and many more characters to come. Geez I talk too much but this show will have you laughing like a maniac, giggling like a schoolgirl, sad like your puppy was ran over, crying and sobbing like you lost a loved one! Please get ready for an emotional rollercoaster. And most of the OSTs are golden so you will love them. That song was Chanyeol’s and Punch and there’s Crush’s Beautiful, Mamamoo’s Love and plenty more💞 omg I’m done!!

Deok Hwa can see the Grim Reaper because he wasn't wearing his reaper hat. With the hat on, only ghosts and souls and the Goblin or other gods can see him and hes otherwise invisible, but with the hat off, anyone can see him

haha yeah, the show is kind of confusing at first but things start to make more sense as the show progresses. i think you might like it if you continue to watch it. there's a lot of humor and of course drama and i think it makes for a good watch. also, if i'm not mistaken, in korean culture elderly women are referred to as grandma even if they aren't that person's actual grandma

That's one of the Reasons I was hoping you would watch a few other dramas before you hop into Goblin. So you can get used to the culture more, learn the things Korean Dramas expect you to already know anyway and get used to the vibe before watching a drama with so much history and its own world and rules.

When he said the next life, he’s moving away because people around would start to notice that he doesn’t age. So he lives in different places for 20 years then comes back. He is able to go through doors and end up in other places. Not even the grim reaper can follow him. That will be explained later on.

so there's a few things you are confused about. I want to try to explain them but I'm not sure I can remember them all. cuz you were hella confused lol. I'll try to explain some without spoiling anything. okay firstly, about the goblins "other lives", he is someone who does not age. he is also someone who can be seen by humans, unlike the grim reaper, kind of. can't tell you about that. you'll just have to keep watching to find out (cuz I think you did catch the fact that he was seen by a normal human). because of this, goblin can't really stay in the same location for that long. people will start asking why he hasn't aged in 20 or 30 years. so every so often he has to "die" and leave, usually for that same amount of time, 20 or 30 years, so it gives him a better chance that the people who knew him from before won't be around. and each time he comes back with a new name because if not that would also be suspicious.

The old lady "street vendor" is not her actual grandma. (I can't remember if you figured that out or not and I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying this since the episode itself didn't try to make you believe this). they would just call her grandma because.. that's just what they do in Korea. Like a respectful custom. now, I know you saw her become young. and you were confused about that. I think it’s safe to say this also, that clearly she's not a normal person plus the fact that she spoke with the grim reaper. who she is, you'll just have to find out. what else, oh you were confused about powers that goblin has. he's a just a powerful dude. powers will keep coming up. you'll just have to take them as they come and take them was fact. they just are. lol. now I think I heard you mention that you don 't like old timey stuff. like you didn't watch game of thrones because of its like old time feel. I'm not sure if I should say this because I want you to keep watching it but you should know that it does slightly go back and forth between present time and the time when he was a general like in this first episode. but it has a purpose! so please just stick with it!! Umm I think that’s all I can remember. I really hope you watch it!!! lol.

I don't understand what was so confusing about Goblin... I understood everything right away. I think the reason why you cant understand is because you're too eager to get everything right away. Dramas usually aren't that way, there are lot's of foreshadowing about the characters. Obviously you aren't supposed to know everything, but you're eager to get it so int he end you start guessing about all the wrong things. My suggestion is that you watch it as it is and go with the flow, take it easy

there's dramas in the us too right? are those soap operas? before SWDBS, and the first two eps of this and w, i've never seen dramas. only anime and like superhero/crime shows. i feel like all the shows ive watched in the first episode presented a mystery/problem but towards the end of the episode you get an idea of what they have to do. i don't feel like i got that with this one, so it's kinda just something im not used to - the format. of course i'm eager to get an idea of the show, i was able to with w and that's kinda the way i test my interest on shows/anime i watch

I finally got around to watching this. I typically don't like historical dramas, I don't even like action movies, but I loved this drama. It is one of my very favorite dramas ever. I was super confused after the first episode, too. I wasn't sure if I would continue at first, but I went for it. I don't regret it a bit. I think you'll really enjoy this as you keep watching.
