Basically, the curse was if you used your strength for selfish reasons, you'd lose it and also be hit with some other physical affliction. She woke up and checked her face because she was worried she would get bad skin or something like that for beating up the mobsters. The mom is just an asshole.

Re watching... So fun! It's one of my faves. Yes it's over the top but like you said, once you get the tone or style of it, you can just kind of roll with it.

LOL I told you this drama was over the top, it’s hilarious though, and jisoo (the police dude) kept getting on my nerves hahaha. If you still need a viki account, I can share mine~ looking forward to the next episode since I never got to finish watching this drama !! Take care~~

When she checks herself in the mirror in the morning she thought she had acne(which is a possible sign of losing her power) but it was just some dried up rice hence why she picked it off. The murder is separate to his threats but a major part of the story nonetheless. The reason he dislikes the police is due the level of police corruption. (it's a real problem in Korea). You'll find a lot of dramas highlight corruption. It is of course exaggerated. There are also Mafia in SK which this drama makes fun of to some extent with the characterisation of the gangsters. It is silly but underneath the humour it is critical of such issues. It keeps growing and is very enjoyable to watch. It's very funny but also has some serious moments. The mum is annoying and i get annoyed with most mothers or mother in law characters in kdramas but that is because i'm from another culture and just not used to such intrusive parenting at least towards adult children. I really dislike people who just nag all the time even if it's coming from a good place such as it is from her mother. All the characters are OTT but it works really well for the comedy.

Lmaooo it's been a while since this drama XDD It's one of my faves actually and has both my favorite actor and actress of all time. But for real it's one of those where you just have to sort of not think too deep and just chill, laugh everything off. It can be over the top but that's sort of the genre and style it's going for anyway.

Honestly I could have done without the gangster story line. I feel like it was overdone, it was funny at first but then got annoying as the show went on and I ended up skipping most of those scenes.
