i actually find those scenes cute and endearing. the cringey part to me is when they're dancing and the performances in ep 2 but we bypassed that now.

When koreans say the "air" is different, it means that the atmosphere/feel is different. :) It's just how they word it.

Also, the masks that you see many Koreans wear. It's not just Korea, Japan is like this too. There are different types of masks with different purposes. 1. Just normal fashion trend (usually cloth and black). 2. If they have a cold and don't want to spread it or catch further germs (usually white). 3. Air quality. There are certain times of the year when smog comes over Korea (usually Seoul area) and we have high alert days where the smog from China's factories float across the country. Korea has no control over this so there are alerts sent when its a high risk day. So. The masks have mostly 3-4 purposes: Fashion, Celebrity Privacy, Sickness Spreading Prevention, and Air filtering.
