The build is taking more time than expected as switching to asynchronous asset loading proved to be much more work than anticipated. Good news is that's mostly done, and I have implemented a proper loading screen. This should resolve the infinite black screen some players have experienced. Additionally, I upgraded to the latest version of the engine (4.26). The release notes state that loading times were improved.

However, the RAM usage was not reduced as much as I had hoped it would be. With the upgrade to 4.26, I was surprised to see massive improvements to the engine's hair and physics systems. It's enough for me to strongly consider replacing my fur system with the engine's solution. While my fur system has served me well, it's responsible for most of the RAM usage and performance problems in the game. Not to mention, the engine's hair looks better and has more features.

Should I decide to replace the fur system, it will take a significant amount of time. Every fur asset would need to be replaced and the code will need to be changed to interface with their system.

Physics has long been a source of frustration for this game. Up until now, the engine used a limited PhysX system with more than a few problems. I have been testing their new system called Chaos, and it is promising. For 0.748, I will only get it to parity with 0.747, especially if I decide to do the fur. Beyond that though, I will look into expanding it into the gameplay.

Lastly, 4.26 introduces water tools. I intend to replace the ugly water in the world with the new stuff. It looks infinitely better and is completely dynamic. Who knows what other more lusty things could be accomplished with such a thing.

I understand this is boring to most of you, but at some point it had to be done. It is much better to do this now as the longer I wait the worse it gets. Continuing to add content as I was, without regard to RAM usage and load times, would have rendered the game unplayable for many.

Always good to know what's going on regardless if it is interesting or not. I do myself. If the program you're using is adding native functions for something you had to sort of code in yourself, I'm down for taking the time and making sure everything in the engine is using the best tool for the job. It can only make things look, run, and feel better down the line! Might be a pain now but I'm 100% certain it'll keep things running better on the road to the future. Holding it off till something breaks give ya more to sift through to find a problem or to fix said problem. Doing it before a breaking point is the wisest choice.

You have to do whatever you have to do to get your game running good. Take your time when you rush stuff goes down hill very fast. As someone who has waited for cyberpunk to come out i can say I'm fine with waiting for a better quality game.

I would prefer if updating the physics engine wouldn't put content updates on hold, but I realize I'm not one of the players who's PC is struggling to play the game. In the end, whatever you think is the best way to support the most player's needs, you should go with that.

Like most others (took my time responding, wanted ideas from the rest of you guys) I'm pretty happy with this. Yes, I'm bummed that it means delays, but if it makes things easier down the road I'd say it's worth it. Just don't hesitate to let us know when you hit a snag like this, I for one was getting worried when we didn't hear anything for a month (after a long period of game updates every two weeks). Now I know why and am cool with it. Looking forward to what you come up with next.

I can understand the issues you're encountering, and I'm glad something you're testing pertaining to physics, and rendering seems to be showing promise. I know some may not either understand, or care however I'm quite thankful for your consideration in keeping us informed as to what's going on even if it may entail a prolonged period prior to the next potential update. I believe it to be better to keep your audience/ player base up to date occasionally, and potentially taking more time to refine than to release an update prematurely thus increasing the likelihood of having to rectify unintended or unforseen issues which may otherwise arise after its deployment. Thanks again for the update.

Hi, I just tried your game on steam and it's extremely well done. What's even more amazing is that you are letting people play it for free so I had to come here and support you. I do have a question though are there any plans to implement foreplay scenes at the barn with your cattle(Not sure what the right term is lol) instead of just breeding. And a suggestion I have is to have some way to get around faster like a mount or whatnot as the biggest drag in this game is the running around before getting access to the portals. That and someway to customize characters you have in your barn would be neat. Just my 2 cents, keep up the great work! :D

Yeah, this game is great, but goodness the travel time is such a drag. Even using the portals, just running to the portals when you're at one end of an area just feels so bad. That's assuming you already unlocked the portal in that area. The travel time isn't a make or break thing for me since once you're into "late game" you spend more time on the farm, but every time I have to start from scratch it kills me to have to do all that running.
