So this week I focused on getting animations done and get implemented for my climbing system.  While its not complete, I've got a good portion of the animations done, and have almost nailed down the basic climbing on the component.


I'm trying to make this component as independent of my specific character class as possible, and so far its worked very well.  One thing I did to make this portable is make all the movement animation independent, and not use root motion at all.

This would mean that any animation, even no animation at all would not stop the system from working.   I'm pretty happy with how well its working out, and once its more complete this is definitely something I would share with the community!




I also nailed down a design for Meridiana's melee weapon.  It will be a rather wicked looking bowie knife.  I was going for a bit of an elder god/ Cthulhu theme with it.  

The colors however, aren't final!


That's about it for this past week.   I would like to get at least one more love animation done before I put out a new build, so I'll get to that this week!

Climbing screenshots look very good! Thank you! Knife: for your consideration, how about an energy blade as opposed to the metal one? The handle can be as exotic as your imagination allows, but as opposed to a pirate-looking heavy blade that looks like something a navy SEAL would use, a more elegant and colorful "mini-lightsaber" might be worth a consideration. Something like a Protoss warrior might use.

Definitely see the Cthulhu theme on the knife, I like it.

its inspiring how good you got at this, have you made games before? how did you learn to program and animate and model so well?

That One Guy Who Never Pledges

Oh hey, the whole energy-blade idea is something I had too! But something else I mentioned with that is I think it might be a tad too powerful for her basic attack, so what if instead the regular knife was your basic attack, and you could upgrade it to have the blade get coated in a magical energy that will burn and help cut through enemies? Also yeah, climbing looks cool. I've got a feeling that the animation for her reaching the top of a ledge and climbing up will involve her raising dat posterior in the air.

This is something I think I forgot to mention, but I've been using for quite a while in the public demo. If you're in the middle of a sex scene and get attacked, Meridiana doesn't have any clothes on until she either dies or finishes a different sex scene. Is this intentional, or did I find a bug?

Would be awesome if there were tentacle traps at the base of or on walls to "pull" you down as you climb
