This week ended up being the completion of what I was working on last week.

As you can see in the video above, I've finished up creating the freeze effect on enemies, as they can now be smashed or thawed out.

This took a lot of work, and I'm not sure I'm super excited with how it ended up.  I wanted to have the frozen parts of the smashed enemy, but I'm sure I'll end up tweaking how they look as they go.

I also spent the time to rewrite the logic of enemy attacks this week, so that I can change the behaviour of enemies to be more individualized.
Per the example last weak with the bird goblin:  He can shoot at you when at range, but if you get close, he's smart enough to try to melee you back out into shooting range.
This actually took a while, and almost involved a roll back to an earlier version with things were broken completely for a little while.

I had hoped to make this update a little more exciting, but these things ended up taking more time than I anticipated.

Unrelated, my roommate has tested positive for Corona Virus, and although the symptoms seem to be super mild for them, we are none the less quarantined for a while.   Hopefully this ends up being nothing, as I feel perfectly fine, but I could end up needing to take a few days off if either of us start to feel really sick!

I hope everyone stays healthy and safe!

Destroying Frozen Mobs Improved

Fixed a lot of what I had issues with on how to thaw and smash frozen enemies. It doesn't fix everything, I still need to make a larger collision volume for each one. I also need to rewrite the way heat is done, so that the newly thawed enemies don't immediately catch on fire. But this is a great improvement none the less! https://www.patreon.com/Mithos56 NSFW!!

The freeze and smash are cool. I am less enthused about the thaw though. I just feel kinda weird with his arms sticking out of the ice and not burning. Not sure how to fix that though. Hopefully everything goes well with the covid. Make sure you both get enough rest and proper nourishment to keep your immune system strength up.

Not the best use of h-partners. Nice ending tho

I agree that the freeze and shatter look great. The thaw could use some visual and audio cues to show how thawed the enemy is. I'd suggest adding progressing levels of cracking in the ice at 25% 50% and 75% thawed. They could be at other percentages but it's a rough guide. You should also have a corresponding cracking noise at each visual cracking interval. You could also change up how the enemies react to taking damage after each cracking interval. 0% to 50% thawed would allow for the enemy to be shattered. 51% to 90% thawed would break the ice only and have the enemy still alive but slowed. At 90% thawed the ice/ enemy should start to shake and then break out on their own after say three seconds. I'd also suggest making the ice shrinkage much less dramatic. So that the ice will always be covering at least 75% of the enemy as they break themselves out. Anyway, these are just suggestions based on other games I've played.
