This was a very busy and productive week.
First I got the effects and sounds for the bomb ability all squared away, as you can see in the video. It turned out pretty much how I wanted it to. I'll still have to tweak its range and power, but that's an ongoing thing.
I posted some nearly finished animations for the Hobgoblin threesome. The second stage is done for that. I'm happy with how its going.
I also managed to finish a lot of under the hood programming stuff that I had wanted to get done. I have added the ability for certain abilities to be aimed and fired while moving, so we'll see how that goes.
There were also some engine upgrades I did. There are some new tools, and optimization features in the newer versions of Unreal Engine. For example, they've extended their auto LOD feature to include skeletal meshes, which means far away enemies can be rendered at lower resolution, speeding things up a bit.
These upgrades have gone mostly smooth, but I still have the older version kept safe if something breaks terribly.
I also have the base of the village girls clothing done. Its certainly not anything exciting, and still needs all its details. (As well as a final color scheme)
I also found some environmental stuff that I really like the look of. It looks to be fairly optimized as well, so I'll be looking to do more with that.
Overall I'm glad to have a pretty good week, and that gets me motivated to continue.
