This week was busy, and I got a lot done!
I managed to iron out most of the kinks in the hobgoblin's rig that were left. Once that was done I was free to start work on his animations.
With every new enemy, there is a rather lengthy list of animations I need to do. For Example:
I was able to get a good portion of those animations done, and I should have no problem finishing off the rest over the next couple weeks.
In addition to the hobgoblin dude, I've also had to work on a few animations for Meridiana. I've originally thought that she would have access to a variety of melee/traditional weapons in addition to the spells she has access to. The more I thought about it though, this not only didn't really make sense for a game about a sorceress.(What's the point of magic if you can just stab them?) But it also made a TON of additional work, as I would need to create more animations for each type of weapon she might encounter.
To this point, I plan to make a small change and limit her physical weapons to a small knife. Its not as effective in combat as her magic is, but it does allow her to do stealth kills. If she is able to hit an unaware enemy in the back, the knife will do a massive amount of damage to them. (If you didn't want to charm them, of course.)
It took a couple new animations, but the knife is basically ready to go, and just needs a final model(I have a stand in for now).
