Ahhhh your interpretation/innocent reading of Zeze sent my brains to universe! Thank you for this and I cannot wait for Friday!

I’m enjoying listening to your podcast very much. I’ve been a fan of her for a very long time, yet, it is so fascinating how I get to discover new aspects of her music or a different interpretation about her lyrics to mine. I totally agree with your opinion that it is quite disturbing to think how some people see the lyrics in an inappropriate way even when they know the story behind it. Anyways, your podcasts are very delightful and interesting so keep it up 😁

Strangely I'm enjoying these podcasts from you as much as your videos! Really well done. I also love how you are "fluid" in your interpretation: changing track as you learn more about a song. It's a refreshing approach. Your interpretation, in small places, reminds me of My Mister. IU is a "mutant" (and entirely unique person). When I first heard about My Mister and how good it was, I delayed watching for about 6 months. After all how good can a show really be that has a pop star as one of its main characters? Wow, turns out I was very very wrong. Once you see what IU does in My Mister you can never "unsee" it (in the best way possible). So I wanted to share another side of IU's personality. At the end of one concert in 2017 she gives a talk. She's done the concert. She's done the encore. Then she ends with this 12 minute talk. I can't think of anyone else who would do that! And she's so eloquent in what she wants to convey. What she says also fits in with some research on reading that indicates even with novels we love that we often don't remember many details about the novel 6 months, a year, or more after reading the book. What we remember quite clearly is the feeling the novel implanted in us. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/9zKUvcIkLas BTW, she does do an en-encore ... so that came later in the evening once you had changed back into her street closes and is closer to being a mutual IU-sing along with the audience.

I love these podcasts into delving more into IU's lyrics and intent in her songs. I personally feel she is a genius and a generational talent. I also agree with Mathew that you should watch My Mister after we finish with Hotel del Luna. Personally, I think this IU's best performance to date.

Thank you! I really enjoyed getting to rethink this, I feel like it ended up in a much more interesting place than my initial thoughts. Can't wait for FrIUday either!

If Iu didn’t write zeze she would not be the 23 year old IU. An true artist always creates works to portray herthroughout her lilac album

Thank you so much! Her lyrics are so rich, I think we could sit here and dissect them in all sorts of ways (though the insidious way -- not so much!!) She's tickling my brain, I love this💖

I'm so glad you're enjoying the podcast, thank you for joining me for these. I can't wait to watch My Mister - I'm into it as soon as we're done with Hotel Del Luna, because everyone says the same as you; it's entirely a league of its own. And thank you for the link! I look forward to watching it :) I always want to hear what she says -- like all things she does, it always adds another dimension.
