About this long delay (Patreon)

Hey guys... where do I even start... I'm typing this message from my phone right now for reasons that will be explained in this post.

So... when I first delayed the update due to my trip, I had planned on writing the remainder of it from the plane. That plan took a nosedive when the flight crew told me I wasn't allowed to use my laptop on the plane (for reasons that escape me).

So... I had to write it from my grandmother's apartment, which hasn't been going too well. My grandmother is a frail old woman who lives on her own, so I have to take her everywhere. The doctor (she has skin cancer, heart issues, etc etc), the bank, the market. In the end, the amount of time I had to spend on myself was limited. I've had one free day so far which I admittedly spent by meeting a couple of old friends I hadn't seen in years and one friend who is relatively new. I owe up to the fact that I should have spent that day working on the update, so feel free to hold me accountable for that.

Now, my grandmother decided that she wants to spend the weekend on the beach. The beach is in the neighboring town, so I, of course, have to accompany her there. The problem is, I won't have internet access while I'm there, so I wouldn't be able to upload the update if I finished it while there. I will only be able to post it when I came back (which should be on Monday, as long as my grandmother doesn't change her mind yet again).

My goal was to finish and post the update today before I left, and you guys might ask me why I haven't. Well, I have to show you guys this:

I'm sorry for the bad image quality, my camera is ass at focusing. Either way, the point is, this isn't the only tear in my laptop's charger. It has five or so more tears that are equally as large. This is what happened when I lent my laptop to my brother (his dog, a dachshund, chewed it like a toy). I hadn't bought a new one yet because it still worked, so I didn't believe I needed to. But now it's not working anymore. I ordered a new cable immediately, but the earliest it could be delivered is next week. So, without being able to charge my notebook, I can't work.

I'm not trying to come up with excuses here. I totally own up to my mistakes (having to delay for the trip, spending my free day to meet friends instead of to work, not buying a new cable sooner). I'm trying to get everything and back on track, but it might still take a week or so (assuming they deliver the new cable next week, which I hope to God they will). Still, I'm going to ask you guys what you think I can do to make it up to you. Regardless of my reasons, it's a fact that I have delayed stuff quite a bit (I had delayed it last month too, if you all remember). Please answer this on the comments so I can come up with something.
