In addition to She Brute, here's what else I've been working on today.

1) Don't get your hopes up, but I've been thinking hard about returning to 'Red Alert'. My working circumstances are due for another change when my daughter gets more nursery hours later this year, meaning I'm going to have a bit more time for work! I want a non-tf project to work on and RA is ideal, do hopefully I shall get this project going again after a few false starts. In the meantime, I did this little mid-tf sketch of Hulk, She-Hulk and Red She-Hulk.

2) Cavegirl. A real labour of love this-- I've finished pencilling the 4 page revamped intro that leads straight into the pages I've already posted. I had the vision in my head that the Mystery Shop that Diane enters on the first page would be like the shop where Gizmo is kept at the beginning of Gremlins. Searching for stills of this scene, I came across a really cool fan produced movie poster where you see a more detailed view of that shop, with loads of 80s movie Easter eggs. That was the basis for the middle panel on Page one. The rest of it is inspired by 70's Dr Strange comics and the cover of a Nancy Drew novel (yes, really!). That's where the brainstorm of the new intro sequence came from: I randomly saw a cover with Nancy sitting in front of a mysterious fortune teller and thought the depiction of her looked pretty close to how I envision Diane Hurley to look. Then I thought it would be cool if the Cavegirl story began with a strange fortune teller giving Diane a vision of her unusual destiny. Keeping the Joe Dante connection, the house in the last panel of the 4th page is based on the Klopek's house from 'The Burbs' (my wife's favourite movie).

3) A Gamma Effect page. Hopefully going to have this complete and online by this time next week!

4) A cosplayer came up on my Instagram feed wearing a costume based on an obscure 80s toy called 'Golden Girl'. A pretty blatant knock- off of She-Ra, GG is none the less a cool visual and me being me, I had to sketch a tf sequence! I don't think the original version of the character has an alter ego or muscles quite that large though.

I love the Golden Girl work. I hope it’s colored and letters soon.

Likewise! I'd like to see a full body picture, please...if you get the chance, Manic! XD

I agree old Nancy Drew cover art is awesome! Hmmm, I love the idea that Diane is rather like Nancy Drew and will soon gain the power of CaveGirl!
