As a big Kirby fan I've always wanted to read it! I've just seen the odd few pages and I love it. Isle of Doctor Moreau meets Planet of the Apes. It's hard to find copies in the UK unfortunately.

Go watch some Hammer Films, they have a genre called, "Cave Girls", One Million Years B.C., Prehistoric Women, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth and Creatures the World Forgot. I'm sure you'll get some inspiration from these movies.
