From Chris: Indie ensemble comedy from the late 90s with a litany of  recognizable names - Justine Bateman, Eric Stoltz, Ally Sheedy, Rae Dawn  Chong, Noah Baumbach, etc. Justine Bateman looks practically knocked  out on tranquilizers or something in her first extended scene.

I  think they were going for a slacker Gen X vibe and trying to hit pay  dirt like Swingers or Clerks. It's really a bunch of acting friends from  the Chicago Improv scene trying to gel together. Kind of like an  unpolished sketch comedy with a loose narrative. Director Noah Baumbach  has disowned this movie.

Supposedly shot on film, a woeful HD transfer dug up by MVD. Some DVDs look better.
