Well this one in paticular I requested as an homage to the late Pvt. Desmond Doss, who saved the lives of over 75 men in WW2. But the overall reason I request pics like this is the same as any: because I wanted to. History means something to me. Acts of heroism and sacrifice mean something to me. Just like the pictures you request mean something to you.
