This was pretty alarming .....  article outlines Europe's precarious security situation amid rising Russian aggression and uncertain American support.  And I know the Economist is left leaning but it was concerning.  Stranger things have happened of late.

Article highlights the continent's unpreparedness for defense, necessitating an overhaul of NATO-based security arrangements established post-World War II. European leaders are urged to increase defense spending significantly, revive military traditions, and restructure the arms industry in preparation for potential conflict.

The assassination of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Russia's military advantage in Ukraine underscore the urgency. With America's shifting focus to the Pacific and potential wavering support under future leadership, Europe's reliance on NATO's military prowess is increasingly risky. The continent faces challenges in modernizing its forces, with recommendations for rapid procurement and increased investment in defense, despite financial constraints and political reluctance. The discussion extends to the need for Europe to enhance its role within NATO and consider nuclear deterrence strategies, emphasizing the necessity for immediate action to secure its defense capabilities against threats.

h/t to Sanjay for sharing the article with me.

Seems like Putin was telling the truth, Navalny died of a bloodclot. Even the Ukrainians seem to confirm this. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/ukraines-top-spy-chief-says-navalny-died-blood-clot-rejects-murder-narrative
