Peter Thiel's Founders Fund made a strategic investment of $200 million in Bitcoin early fall last year, according to a recent report by Reuters. The investment came before the recent surge in institutional interest in Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

This move by Thiel's VC firm signals renewed optimism in the cryptocurrency market, and the timing seems to have been well-calculated.
