What is the potential downside risk of this trade? If the Tesla share price drops, then call option becomes worthless and the put option which was sold could be executed meaning that James would have to buy the Tesla shares for $240 while the market price is lower. Is that right and is it nonetheless a rather risky trade? Thanks

No brainer.

Depending on how the option account is setup, IF TSLA went to Zero, you would be on the hook for 24k, and the net debit of 1800. AND the part that I'm still trying to figure out as far as gains is you either have to have sufficient margin OR $24k in cash that effectively gets locked for the next two years and you can't touch until you buy to close your put or the whole thing expires.....so the return is fuzzy....is it on the 1800 or on the $25.8 that you either have cash or margin...I think it should be on the 25.8...For example. If TSLA is at 408 at expire...you would make ball park: 16800.00 for the call you have put expires worthless so.....$16800k....total return 15k/25.8k 65% return somebody check my math
