"Heavy short demand"...Lol...translation - stocks are getting crushed!?!? Not trying to be a Monday morning QB here but my spidey-sense told me this would happen. I think James' thesis is solid on this, I just think JP wanted to use his commentary to temper the "irrational exuberance" from his comments earlier in August. This will give him better positioning to lighten his hikes either sooner or more moderately. He may make a 75 bp hike for one last inflation punch, or drop to 50 bp if the data supports it but this may be a good time to go bargain hunting. My $.02
