The #IA Community would appreciate that. I have spoken favorably of @CelsiusNetwork in the past when benchmarked against other #CryptoLendingPlatforms but risk mitigation is a key tenet of our community. I will ping you directly - thanks Alex @Mashinsky

Not on Twitter but yes would love to see this happen to instill true confidence in wallet entities.

You got it!! , done

Anonymous

That would be amazing - thanks for pursuing this!

Anonymous

Added a comment. This will be great

I have a lot of crypto in Celsius and really believe it’s a safe spot, would love reassurance that I’m doing the smart thing

Anonymous

Yes I would love to see this. I started moving funds out of BlockFi in favor of Celsius because I like their security features better, and it’s easier to pull funds. But I’ve grown wary of all lending/rewards platforms since joining this group and purchased a Trezor to store most of my crypto. But I still want to leave a percentage of my holdings in Celsius if it is in fact a solid platform. I was a little spooked by the recent report of some potential liquidity issues. So Grill him 🤣 If he can withstand your questions, I might just be convinced to stay with them.

Anonymous

This would be wonderful. I’ve got a decent amount of crypto on Celsius (trying to max gains while we’re still early), but if it’s not secure, I’d rather it sit on a hardware wallet than be at risk on Celsius.

Anonymous

Would love. This I want to believe in Celsius but right now I’ve only transferred a little of my albeit small BTC holdings.

Anonymous

Yes of course! Anything you ask is my pleasure. You ask for so little, and give so much it’s my pleasure to do anything to help! 🥰 everyone have the most joyful blessed Sunday ever!!!

Anonymous

Lets see what he has to say…

Anonymous

This would be great, cheers James

Anonymous

That would be awesome, I look forward to it. During the grilling ask him if he would also travel to Mars and back if the opportunity came :-)

Anonymous

I saw that tweet exchange LIVE! Do I get a badge 😂😂😂 This is what the community needs! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Just met up with my friend this weekend and his soon to be son-in-law has just lost several hundred thousand in the Titan crash, took too much risk and lost a lot of his money, they are expecting their first child shortly, not a good start.

Anonymous

Ask him why his platform needs a shitcoin. There are alternatives (BlockFi, HODLHODL, etc.) that work perfectly fine without one.

Anonymous

I retweeted it and tagged you. Hope it happens! Thank you, James!

Anonymous

This is really great, this makes me happy! 🙂 Great work James and I hope this meetup/interview will happen

Anonymous

Same, I’ve only got about 5k of BTC (cost average around 33k) and so far I’ve only transferred about 600 ish to Celsius cause I’m still unsure how safe it is. Would love to fell more confident in the platform to make some additional gains since I don’t have any more capital to actually buy BTC right now

Anonymous

Nice! I hope this works out

Anonymous

Yes, please! I have crypto in Celsius.

Anonymous

Absolutely my friend 😁 🌅🎶 Happy , healthy and prosperous Sunday IA Family 😁🍾

Anonymous

Awesome! Unfortunately I do not use Twitter.

Anonymous

It would be interesting, but for him it is marketing. I'd be more interested in say hodlhodl, or similar. Antoni at Nexo would be another good one, and the Sovryn team too.

Anonymous

Already trust Celsius more than any other crypto company. Have a good conversation with him.

InvestAnswers

There is a reason I do not lend, I am so sorry for his loss. I had a few very sad messages over the last week of folks losing their bags.

Anonymous

Two issues were discussed in a bit here minutes 34:20 onwards re the NY Trust issue. Prior was the UK pull out. If anyone interested as I am following these issues closely too https://youtu.be/FZ7JH91CB7w

Anonymous

Celsius has been on my radar for some time. I’m very hesitant with the current volatility to stake or lend. I’m most concerned about rehypothecation. It would be a very helpful video.

Anonymous

Thanks I was wondering about Alex as Tone Vays labeled him a $hitcoin artist

Anonymous

James, in case you weren’t planning this already, perhaps you can include some key questions about the CEL token? I understand if it’s out of scope for this meeting, otherwise (depending on the outcome of this) it could be a coin to consider to research in the future…

Anonymous

Trust is one thing but question is what are the collaterals if it goes south? We can ask the same on banks but those are often backed up by the state if going belly up, or at least their customers. So it would be great to play open books and see the actual collaterals, potential leverage and lending levels to properly rate @ what market level the situation can turn red! I’m a Celsius customer and I still didn’t answer your questionnaire as I realized I do not have any strong fundamentals to trust any of this market’s actors.

Anonymous

Done! Very interested as I use Celsius.

Anonymous

Tone Vays is a Maxi so he won’t endorse anything but Bitcoin.

Anonymous

Done (I’m Blue_Budgies on Twitter)

Anonymous

Please please please do this. Biggest question in crypto right now is where to trust

Anonymous

Not on Twitter but I belong in the category of people who want to hodl their crypto forever and are looking for safe ways to create some income. Not willing to risk my holdings for 6% though, and extremely unsure if I could ever learn options trading (or should even attempt to learn). Celsius would make perfect sense but insurance against loss is a massive issue.

Anonymous

I just closed my bitcoin loan on Celsius (mainly due to your video the other day). Closed it because of rehypothecation. It was not a bad experience. The money got wired to me quickly. The negative was the difficulty in paying the interest. Had to buy more other coins (I paid interest in Dai) and then transfer rather than just sending them cash. Had to do the same to pay off the loan. Would not do another bitcoin loan without multisig, but the interest rate offered by Celsius for 25% LTV couldn’t be beat. As a side note, I did the loan on the day bitcoin was at its ATH. It was REALLY tempting to keep the loan and buy more bitcoin.

In response to the post in another thread regarding the victim of the SIM Swap hack, I started to do some research and found this article that was both informative and scary. medium.com/mycrypto/what-to-do-when-sim-swapping-happens-to-you-1367f296ef4d It seems that two factor authenticator applications like Google Authenticator are critical to being secure. The SMS text code 2FA seems not secure at all. This danger affects your other accounts too - banks, brokerages etc. One thing I found out about Google Authenticator is that if you lose your phone you lose your authenticator keys. There is a way to get a long string of characters and enter them by hand instead of scanning the bar code image. You can copy down these characters and use them to restore your authenticator on your new phone. If you don't copy the key characters and lose your phone you could be locked out of your exchange account.

Like Susanna K above, I'm not on Twitter and am seeking a safe and straightforward path for holding BTC "forever" while generating passive income with few risks and complications.

Anonymous

Looking forward to this!

Anonymous

Retweeted! That would be awesome!!

Anonymous

Thank you for sharing this article! This is terrifying!

Anonymous

Everyone : please always test your backup plan process BEFORE THE EMERGENCY. For 2FA you can type the backup code into an extra phone or tablet with the google auth app. Or on the same phone with an alternative trustworthy app such Authy.

Anonymous

I do have Authenticator, but what about YubiKey for an extra layer of protection? It would only be possible for desktop accessible exchanges, but impossible for a SIM swap fraud scenario.

Anonymous

James, the google sheet of 31st jan for the Black Scholes pricing model for options, cannot be downloaded. Is it possible you could activate such feature? I want to study it to understand it and educate myself better into options

Anonymous

Question for Alex - Why did you need to issue a token (CEL)? Couldn’t you just provide yield w/o token? ICO seems shady as a way to fill up your pockets. BlockFi, Gemini, etc, don’t issue tokens.

Anonymous

Great news. Well done!

Anonymous

Would be great to see an interview with Alex. I'm a Celsius (and Alex) fan but would be super to have a IA "ask the tough questions" sort of thing. Thank you.

Anonymous

I have assets through Celsius too. I have not taken any loans out, just HODLing. Would like to hear substantial reassurance and information, so I do not withdraw my BTC and MATIC assets.

Anonymous

Would love to see this happening. I'm huge in CEL and using their platform for decent return and compounding. Please do this interview.

Anonymous

This is a good idea

Anonymous

Absolutely James, anything to support you 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼hope you get to have a great grilling sesh…. ahem, I mean, conversation! 😉

A question for Alex if possible, why can Celsius afford much higher APY than BlockFi for example on BTC/ETH and which factor could affect the APY negatively in the future? Thank you 👍🏽👍🏽

Anonymous

Also agree, feeling uncomfortable with my holdings at Celcius now with recent talk. Would love to hear results of your talk with him.

A couple of APP questions for Alex. 1) Why do the web and mobile apps just display truncated or rounded values for things like rewards earned for a coin on a given date? That means the APP/WEB interface is useless for updating your own records and so you need to download the transactions history. 2) Why can you not download the transaction history from the web app? (maybe you can but I did not see it). But I agree the most important thing is to understand how secure Celsius is from failure due to hackers and most importantly due to market moves. One more question: why can US persons not earn interest in CEL and will that change?

Anonymous

I have been with Celsius almost 3 years . I have the bulk of my crypto investments with them, have taken loans , and paid back the loans . I have opened personal and corporates accounts with them . I have done my DD over the years , and still grill them daily . This is the most transparent project out there . Enjoy your chat with Alex M

James, Question for Alex: Should we be concerned with what is happening to Binance in the UK and something similar happening to Celsius. I have some loans against my BTC through Celsius which makes me concerned if I have to close my positions.

Anonymous

Hi James. Question for Alex please. Will Celsius offer in app purchases of coins with existing coins in your wallet? E.g. selling some of your MATIC to buy Bitcoin. Love the app but would really want to transfer some coins without having to move crypto off the Celsius network. I also couldn’t deposit funds from Australia as their Swift / BIC code wasn’t found 😥 Love your channel, James. Thank you for all the great content! 🙌
