Something I'd been thinking about on and off for a while. I started Wrestle Kingdom with a lot of "Who cares why? Make it fun," energy. Eventually I mentioned so much stuff that it kind of pieced together and I had to make up parts to patch things in when I started making it have some semblance of a story. So I cobbled together most of the stuff I either mentioned or privately joked about, gave it some loose ideas, fleshed out the tidbits and puns, and got some thoughts from Crystal/SpectralSluggin who helped develop the party. Just some loose rules and ideas that probably won't come into play and some are just outright gags I refuse to embellish on.

Hey, WK. I just got done with this pet project. I’ve got a friend overseas who found an old manual from a copy of Wrestle Kingdom manual that came with it, and another friend who hacked into part of a private wiki the programmers used that had some lore and info on the game. I know there’s not a lot of info for us to go on and not everyone can find a rom hack before it gets taken down, let alone a copy of the game, so here’s all the info I could gather from all my sources.

My own footnotes and edits in the [brackets].

The Forces of Wrestle Kingdom

The Goddesses: the four entities that maintain the world of Wrestle Kingdom. They oversee and represent the balance of the forces of morality and victory, keeping the world in its peaceful yet competitive way that prevents any true harm from befalling the people. Not much is known about the goddesses themselves, but they are Jobierre (the goddess of loss), Gimmikara (triumph), Heelena (wickedness/cheating), and Faec (honor/good).

They are said to only truly answer to the K-Fae.

The K-Fae: lawful, intangible spirits that maintain order in the world. They are said to be manifestations of rules and magical energy in the world, creating all that makes Wrestle Kingdom what it is. [In world reasons why shit’s this goofy?]

The Champion of Evil: the vague antagonist of the game. Without spoiling too much, they’re a warrior who uses their matches for force others to follow their command and gather a powerful force that threatens Wrestle Kingdom. I’m sure you’re brave enough to defeat them!

Princess Susan Plex: the mighty ruler of the land. She’s as strong as she is fair, and would make an important ally. Any coming hero should try to impress her.

General Vaughn McMaul: a famous orc warrior with vast influence of not only orcs, but many wrestlers. They worked their way up from a common thug of a monster to a great boss of a leader. While not always honest or fair, their strength is undeniable and they are quick to defend their followers. Rumors have started to spread that they were bested by this dark new champion.

The Fetish Wizard: a being said to be as old as recorded time, even before gods and witches. They tend to keep to themselves but have powerful transformative magics that can alter or disable any foe. They have a keen interest in wrestling and fighting sports, watching many of the matches via his magic orb.

[We have some reports of him being a secret optional boss. I think they’re meant to be an implied reason for this world, like the creator of K-Fae?]

The Races of Wrestle Kingdom:

All manner of beastfolk, monsters and races live in the world of Wrestle Kingdom! Many are playable while others are out there to meet in the world! Actual humans are rare in this world, making the players a unique sight.

Elves: a mystic race of thin, handsome, pointy-eared people. They have a natural access to magic, leading to them being slippery opponents with surprising spells up their sleeves to make up for what they lack in strength. They come in a variety of colors and types, found in every part of the world.

Wrestle Elves: a cultured race of sharp-eared people that broke off from their thinner elven cousins. With their long lifespans, they spend their centuries honing their bodies and techniques to become mighty grapplers. They hold their practices with a holy sense of respect for combat as a whole. They often feud and compete with the mud orcs, who consider wrestling to be the ultimate thrill and source of fun in their lives. They tend to grow tall and muscular, especially their rare males who they keep protected and secluded.

Ring Dwarves: short, eccentric and energetic people. They constantly seek new techniques and advancements, both in technology and grappling. Though surprisingly strong for their size, they are best known for building almost every wrestling ring in the land. Some extreme members of their clans have reached brilliance to a point of madness, forming cults that reach beyond the rules of their world into what they call cheats or “glitches.”

Mud Orcs: large green warriors who adore up close combat. Their sporty nature comes from them considering wrestling the peak of sport, fun and respect, making them very physically affectionate in their own way. Orcs are quick to make friends, but not everyone is built to withstand their notions of friendship for long.

Mermanagers: amphibious beings with checkered fish tails as lower bodies. While strong swimmers, their mastery of the seas makes them uninterested in fighting or competing. This makes them trusted as neutral parties, often called upon as judges or assistants. They are famous for giving incredible massages by applying their natural fish oils and powerful tails.

Goblins: short, curvy and primitive creatures. They are widespread and often band together to become a greater threat. While they love wrestling as much as anyone else, they love winning even more. They’ll often use their short stature and dirty tricks to keep opponents guessing.

Minotaurs: humanoids with cow-like features. They are broad and bulky with incredible stamina. Their females produce a lot of milk out of their large chests while their males are mountains of muscle.

Demons: monstrous beings of all shapes and sizes, they often live among humans quite peacefully. They tend to be impulsive creatures, just as likely to go on adventures to save a local as they are to turn to banditry and mayhem.

Dragons: some of the most powerful creatures in Wrestle Kingdom. While they were once massive fire-breathing reptiles, they reached a long period of stagnation and boredom since no one would bother to challenge something so huge. They used their magic to transform into human-looking creatures while keeping their horns, tails, wings, and small amounts of scales on their skin. They maintain much of their strength, but are much more manageable in their smaller forms.

Dragonfolk: humanoids with varying amounts of dragon blood in them. They are far more common than actual dragons, often passing for humans with reptilian horns, tails or wings. They say only shapeshifted true dragons have all of the traits.

Classes: perhaps the most important choice in making your character! While most of your fights will take place in a ring, there’s all sorts of ways to defeat an opponent. Each class has several subclasses, specialties you can unlock by pursuing certain paths and actions throughout the game. Make your choices wisely and make the most out of the Feats you gain from leveling up and you can win any fight.

Wrestler: a sturdy fighter with a variety of grappling and slamming attacks used to wear down their opponent.

  • Prizefighter: Earn extra coins whether you win or lose. Extra inventory space and bonuses from using items make the wrestler more versatile with their resources.
  • Lucha: An especially agile class that keeps moving throughout a fight to catch opponents off guard and wield momentum to their advantage. Unlocks the Mask equipment slot.

Boxer: A striker with big single target damage, at the cost of being more reliant on gear and more limited tactics.

  • Raging Bull: Focuses on tanking hits, countering more often or gaining attack power the more damage you take yourself.
  • Kickboxer: Strike with all four limbs! Increases your movement speed and legwork incredibly while also giving your leg strikes the same bonuses you gain from your gloves in multi-attacks.

MMA Fighter: a quick and aggressive fighter who uses speed and tactics to go after weak spots to put as much damage into a single blow as possible.

  • Uncaged Fighter: Use your balance and gear in a unique ways, using your surroundings and allies to bait opponents. Scale the ropes, trip up opponents, and build up your power while luring them into place.
  • Assassin: Take your opponents straight through the floor for some ground and pounding. Increases impact of strikes AND choke strength up to wrestler levels. Your opponents will have a horrible time getting you off their back

Sexfighter: Use your body to throw the opponents off or perk your allies up, as handy as they are handsy

  • Charmer: Focus on throwing your opponent through a loop, with more debuff abilities along and abilities to rally teammates with your kinky encouragement.
  • Mistress: teaches opponents the meaning of tough love. Deals increased damage on enemies based on how many status effects. Increases the power of Head Scissor and Facesit.

Scrapper/Brawler: [conflicting translations]. Wanna fight with more than your fists? Grab everything that isn't nailed down to start swinging!

  • Bar Brawler: Really hone in on “Everything Goes” as a reckless and dangerous action hero. Incredibly enhances lift/throw limits, and gain bonus damage when you break an item. Get creative with what you consider a weapon!
  • Hardcore Champ: a real weapon wielding threat. Unlocks a permanent slot for any item. Once you have something you trust, take it into every battle with you.

Monk: Imbue your fighting with more in your inner nature. Wield chi and magic to heal teammates and apply the unique elements of Wrestle Kingdom.

  • Monk Of Balance: Opening your mind to the energies of the world, you heal others while draining energy from opponents and using their own momentum against them.
  • Monk Of Strength: Tap into your chi to really get things moving. Coat your strikes in elemental force or enhance your stats and muscles with your inner chakras.

Sumo: A true tank, slow and bulky, can take a real beating. Has a talent for ring outs.

  • Powerhouse: a thick and strong bruiser who can take a ton of damage and dish it out just as hard after plenty of experience in the ring.
  • Sumo Titan: become nearly immovable when you don’t want to budge. Increases character’s HP along with weight and size.

Manager: While less effective on the front lines, a good manager supports their party with major buffs and abilities that prove extremely useful outside of battle. They have extra abilities, duration, and options when it comes to summoning.

  • Cornerman: focusing their interfering energies on a single ally, granting them many benefits while splitting damage by hiding behind them.
  • Card Carrier: a very popular class indeed! With some useful connections, they gain bonuses to charisma and can call upon more powerful summons.

Sights To See In the Kingdom:

Castle Turnbuckle: a prosperous kingdom and the safest place in Wrestle Kingdom under the protection of Princess Plex. They are the main stronghold against the forces of evil.

Wrestlevania: a dark and dangerous woodland kingdom. The gloomy-looking people are surprisingly pleasant to visitors, but protect their borders from more monstrous beastmen and ghosts. It is ruled by The Three Counts, a rotating council of nobles.

The Macho Mountains: home of the ring dwarves and mines that gather only the finest minerals. Its complex halls and tunnels house a thriving underground world full of people of all sorts to deal business with and wrestle monsters to battle.

Mudrisall: a coastal vacation town where its pure, clean waters mix with the land to form the highest quality of mud. It has a strong mud wrestling culture as a result, frequented by would-be wrestlers and vacationers alike.

Pauper’s View: a humble, hard working city that produces much of the land’s food. While fairly poor, its residents tend to be tough and hardy farming folk.

Heeldor: a small town that borders some dangerous territories. Its residents are simple and cheerful folk, leaving them vulnerable to bandits and belt thieves.

R'uhl L'romle: the elf capital

The Champagne Ship Coasts: a classy part of the world where many retired adventurers and fighters

The Jobba Islands: a luxurious tropical series of islands that is difficult to reach without a skilled sailor. Due to their comfortable lives and constant vacations, its residents tend to be fairly spoiled and easy to beat.

The Dusty Roads: a long trail leading through a desert. Its challenging journey is said to hold great knowledge and treasure at its end.

Nosellia: an ancient arena built into an old but sturdy fortress. Said to house the strongest of monsters and challengers for those seeking to perfect their skills.

So we definitely need to see all of that in the story

I don't know if I'll fit the secret bosses and classes, but do want to fit most of it in there
