Reward Art: Winterfang, Zeru vs Amber (Patreon)

A snippet of a scene from my Winterfang of the Valla novel, if sexed up a little more. It's up on Amazon and Gumroad, or at the $5 tier if that doesn't ring a bell. Short version is a girl getting adopted into a tribe of amazons and finding her new life there. Part of that means training to be a hardcore warrior teen and fighting her "classmates." It so happens that her first opponent was (a) underestimating her ability to scrap and (b) her future crush Zeru. Me being me, even my tidied up version of the story has some random wrestling and action scenes.

I adore these two as a couple, but that's also me knowing and rping them for much longer than the book's been out. I kind of know where I'd like the story to go for another book, but I don't know how much of it translates from its initial brainstorming compared to the tweaks I made for the novelization.

"Good for an outsider," Zeru huffed, her breathing heavy but steadily.  "Maybe strong enough to make a sweet little housewife to a true valla someday."  Amber struggled to escape, trying to bend so that she could control her arm again.  Zeru pulled up on her limb to force her upper body to rise, showing her off for the rest of the class.

The girls laughed from outside the pit, apparently Zeru's gesture strictly an act of humiliation for her.  Zeru was just toying with her as she pressed her knee into her back.  The pain wasn't mind-blowing, but it was sharper and stronger than she had experienced with Bella.  She tried to think, but when that failed to deliver any ideas, she acted.  “Surprise them," Bella had said.

Amber focused until she felt a light brush against her side.  She felt back with her free arm, seizing and pulling down on Zeru's lengthy braid as hard as she could.  The bigger girl gave a shrill scream as Amber yanked on it like the rope of a church bell, pouring all the weight she could on it.  It wasn't enough to throw her off, but enough for Zeru to release her arm and chest to claw at Amber's hand to force her off her hair.

Amber rolled hard to one side, not fully escaping but knocking Zeru off her balance and making herself a harder target.  Zeru landed a slap to her face, but Amber wasn't stopping.  She saw the teenage warrior's leg straddling her, and the instincts spoke to her again.  With a throaty snarl, she grabbed and bit into Zeru's calf with all the ferocity she could muster.

Zeru gave a quick scream of pain and surprise.  She was clearly done with her toying slaps at that point, and threw a punch into Amber's face.  "OWW!  Off, you little devil beast!"  Amber just grit her teeth and held on, digging her fingers into the leg as she bit down harder on her calf muscle.  It wasn’t enough to penetrate her skin, but it certainly threw Zeru off her game.

Zeru landed a few more hits, but Amber had twisted to put her legs and body in between her and her fists.  Amber released her bite and rolled again, only this time she was still holding Zeru's leg.  The darker fighter kicked her in the breast, knocking her top off-center but only managing to slow Amber down.  The newest valla let out every bit of anger and adrenaline, tasting her opponent’s sweat on her tongue as she took Zeru's foot and twisted it as hard as she could.  Zeru gave another scream, but Amber's mind was well past concern for her.  She just had to make her stop hitting her, and making her submit would do that.  She let one hand take Zeru's braid, pulling on it for balance and bending her leg back farther.

Zeru was forced onto her stomach, breast and belly in the mud as she elbowed back in Amber's ribs.  Amber almost lost her grip, but she dug in with her nails and pulled harder.  If she let go now, she didn't know if she could catch the big, angry girl again.  Amber felt Zeru clawing at her back and hair, leaving stinging lines going down her pale skin.  Zeru ended up digging her fingers in just below the new girl's ribs, making Amber wince from the stinging pain in her side but growling as she redirected it into more anger.  Amber took one of Zeru's toes and twisted it like a lever of its own, getting an even higher scream from Zeru just before a heavy thump crashed down beside her.
