I am proud to announce that the Book one is available for order on kindle, and the audiobook, Narrated by Travis Baldree, is now available for preorder on audible. Volume 1 contains about 20K extra of fleshed out words, 7 illustrations, and editing. I'm pretty sure I've got all the Its and It's right now.

The release date is May 24th for both. We are also getting a physical copy in the future. that has been guaranteed to me, but the date for that is still a bit in the future.

I'd like to thank everybody so far for your support in making this possible. The book for kindle is illustrated with a bunch of wonderful illustrations by Tsuu, of which I will provide later on to my patreons.

Now, if you're planning on preordering it, the podium people have all their analytics, and have said to me that its better to pre order audio, but wait until the day of for the official book due to how the algorithm of Amazon works. Preorders are counted to day one sales for audio, but not for books.

However, with the good... comes some unfortunate news. Part of this deal was also going with Kindle Unlimited. Which means I will have to remove Volume 1 from the sites I have it published on.

I have said in the past that I was not going to go KU. That I was not going to take it off the sites. Unfortunately, the argument for KU was in the end, too convincing. I apologise to everybody, but Volume 1 will be taken off public sites. This is ONLY volume one, and I will still be posting everywhere else as normal. This will be finalized on may tenth. In the future, when book one does eventually come back, it will be the fully edited version.

Again, thank you everybody for your help and support.

Sweet, congrats on publishing! I'll be grabbing the ebook and physical once it's out.

Unfortunately, I will not support Amazon, for several reasons. Direct support is easy - I don't use their services or purchase through their platform. Indirect support is less clear, but I have previously decided on refusing to support anyone with an exclusivity contract with Amazon, most notably Kindle Unlimited. This sadly makes you the second author that will be losing my Patreon beginning next month.

I’m sad to hear about the kindle unlimited. I think it’s going to negatively affect your ability to get new readers and I hate the kindle unlimited business model. I’m wishing you the best of luck going forward. I love the story, but i’m going to vote with my wallet and unsubscribe here.

Congratulations. Will the Audiobook be Whispersync and if so will it have discount?

Same here, unfortunately. I respect the hustle, can't fault any author trying to get paid as much as possible for their work, but this is still gonna be the metaphorical straw for me. It rubs me the wrong way that this decision comes so soon after the one month break, where most of us stayed subscribed as a show of support and goodwill. EDIT: Yeah, I understand that the break was largely for getting the book ready. I have no problem with the book itself, was planning to buy it even, but kindle unlimited is a different matter.

Pre-ordered all the things! This is far fetched but a physical copy would be great if your digital sales go well.

The thing is getting the book and comic ready was a huge reason FOR the one month break.

Not available for pre-order on Audible.de yet :(

I don’t really understand the hate for kindle unlimited… it’s 10 bucks a month for a ton of reading, and authors get paid…

Already the '# best seller in topiary gardening and horticulture' I'm dying, seriously look at that list

I feel the pain, I have no idea why you can't pre-order on the .de store, or even see the audiobook.

It's a problem with Amazon, and with exclusivity contracts. If there was not an exclusivity clause, I would be reluctantly tolerant of authors publishing through it. If it was not owned and run through Amazon, I might even have used it, if I did not despise the subscription model. I do not have the analytics to confirm, but I also strongly suspect what they say the author gets paid is incredibly misleading. The first of many issues here is the actual pay is going to be what the author receives, *minus* what they would have received through all other methods of publication, including other Amazon platforms. Edit: There is also the issue of CasualFarmer previously clearly saying he would not use Kindle Unlimited. This is justifiably seen as a betrayal by some who had previously supported him, but object to KU.

It's kind of disappointing that you will be removing the first volume not going to lie, but I understand and at the end of the day we were lucky to have been able to enjoy it for free, but considering your readers and where most of use come from this may have hindered your ability to get more.
