Hello everyone,

here's Chapter 17 of On Wings of Steel. I'm working on Chapter 18 right now and should be done in less than a week.

Long time reader, new to the patreon, just want to say I'm really excited for the new chapters, just a quick question is the new months material decided through only the polls or is there a more set schedule that you work off of with the polls as additional content?

Another great chapter! I am loving how you’re handling people slowly figuring out that Shirou is more than he seems at first glance along with the slow development of Kochou’s feelings towards Shirou. I’m eager to see how she eventually deals with the fact that she is indeed developing affection towards him independent of a reaction. Though in regards to things that are more likely to occur sooner in the story, I’m curious to see how Shirou will handle the situation with Hayato being a 15 year old boy. While he has always given me an impression of being a less (literally) rapey and sadistic and more childish version of Shinji Matou due to his arrogance and sheer lack of compunction over winging Sekirei against their will, he is still a kid, so unless Shirou meets him and gets a similar impression to what I get it seems likely that he will struggle with what to do to try and handle the situation. It’s one thing for someone to be resolved to kill an adult who is threatening you, it’s another thing entirely when it’s a child (especially when your first glimpse of them is of them smiling and being happy).

Yes, the current Shirou is on the edge of pulling a Kiritsugu. He's not quite there yet, but a sufficiently bad situation might make him flip.

I just realized, one thing that I’m enjoying about your current stories is the contrast between Shirou in wings of steel and in wandering hero. The clear difference in mindset, priorities, general demeanor, and how close to the edge they are is doing a great job of highlighting a rarely acknowledged fact about Shirou Emiya. That he is better* when he has people that he cares about and who in turn make him more human than sword and make sure that he doesn’t get buried in his ideals, and that he is a bit more worse for wear when he doesn’t have that in his life. *To clarify I mean better in terms of his mental and physical health
