We're realizing more and more how much we're losing in the audio-only world of podcasting talking about a visual medium, so to help illustrate our finer points in this week's episode, here's a "reel" I've assembled of Mike Lah's best and funniest work. It'll give you a good idea of his gifts and how to ID his style in the other MGM cartoons. Enjoy!

Hello, love the podcast! Is it possible, as a courtesy to your Patrons, for you to publish a list of all the cartoons you discuss on each podcast? I like to watch the cartoons after you’ve talked about them, but I usually listen in the car or at the gym, so I’m not able to jot down all the titles you mention while I’m listening. Thanks!

We'll try and do that more in the future on the public feed Libsyn page, great suggestion.

Cool, thanks. Do you have a link to your Libsyn page? I’m just full of questions, ain’t I?

Wow, truly some of the best written and animated gags ever. I wonder how something like Chips off the Old Block could ever be part of a Warner Archive Blu-ray collection seeing as it’s a one-off without household names in the credits.

The non-Avery MGMs are in their restoration pipeline. I was astonished the Averys were first as I thought THESE would be.

Well, that’s awesome news, although I’m not sure what you mean by THESE. MGM non-Tom & Jerrys or non-Averys? I just heard George Feltenstein talk up Screwball Tex 2 on the Warners podcast, so let’s hope the pandemic doesn’t fuck up these kind of releases.

By "THESE", I meant the non-T&J/Avery MGMs. I had assumed those were coming first because they'd been worked on chronologically.
