There's a problem with these videos I can hear seb just fine but there's no sound on the film he's watching

Anonymous

That's by design. You have to watch the movie in parallel. That's why there is like a minute in the beginning to sync your movie with Seb's.

starting off the year right w a film roast. i remember this film being bad in theaters but guess we’ll see if it’s as bad as i remember haha

I thought you said you liked it as a kid? (unless thinking of something else 😂)

I thought people might have been exaggerating because of their love for ATLA but no that was god awful. Apart from the visuals and set design the rest was garbage. Acting awful from everyone, not a single good acting role. Story was terrible. I'm not sure it would even make sense if you didn't know ATLA. So terribly stitched together that I actually think it would have been worse if I didn't know ATLA. Worst movie seen on the channel by a mile. I found it a very funny irony, that the comments will probably roast you for, in that you still haven't learnt how to pronounce Toph 😂 The fact they got so many names wrong compared to the show pronunciations was painful. I can't believe so much of this got through all the stages of making a film without being stopped

Oh no...oh Seb, why did you do this to yourself in 2023 hahahahahaha I can't wait to watch this with you XD I remember that I watched this in the cinema and thought it was GREAT! Because I hadn't watched the animated series at all. When I went back and watched the animated series...the live action left a very bitter taste in my mouth...it is just horribly cringe!!!

The actors for Oong (Aang) and Zuko were/are actually martial artists IIRC so that's why their scenes were so good in terms of physicality. Watching this again, does really make you feel like they took a giant shit on the source material in every aspect possible. The soundtrack and VFX were good however. Hopefully you'll react to Netflix's version of The Last Airbender...whenever that comes out!

I hope you’ll still consider watching Korra at some point!

Bailey Ross

Does this mean Korra maybe?

One thing I loved about the series is that the (white) creators actually did their homework and paid respect to Asian, indigenous, and other cultures. But that's among the many things the move decided to abandon. The "characters" for the four elements during the opening aren't actually Chinese characters (unlike in the show); few people in the movie (based on the footage I've seen) are ethnically correct (the culture(s) that inspired each nation are well-documented); and then the movie also managed to gratuitously add tropes like "qi" when it doesn't make much sense in the Avatar world.
