“The Batman” is what you get when you make a comic book movie accurate to the source material. This movie, however, is what happens when the creative team not only skims the source material but turns it into what they feel like this type of movie should be like. The “Birds of Prey” comic is one of my favorites and to see not only how they’re portrayed but also sidelined IN THEIR OWN MOVIE is baffling to me. I blame Margot Robbie (she had a lot of creative control since she was a producer on this).

I'm not too sure how to sum that up. I feel like it was still pretty fun just kinda annoying with how many elements were good but how weak they were put together. I actually thought basically all the women were pretty great but just not given enough time each to shine and make us properly care about them. Too many characters to promote in one movie. The villains were just bad I thought. I dunno if it was the writing, Ewan or both but did not work. He just gave really awkward scenes that made me feel uncomfortable but didn't add anything. I think there was also probably too much action that had zero weight. Maybe better if they had made a sick ending scene with all of them fighting and given the rest to character and story development more. Could have gone more with the editing too. Basically just think they had a lot of good elements and almost could have been really good just not quite there. A Birds of Prey 2 could be good though honestly if that's going to be a thing. Nice catch on the LOST guy, I knew I recognised him. That Sway song I had totally forgotten that banger.

i liked this maybe a little more than the first time i watched it but i feel like margot robbie is just constantly a victim of bad writing. she's an incredible Harley Quinn and i wish she got a really strong solo movie instead of this, but i'm not completely disappointed

All they had to do was follow any of the Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti’s stuff from their run on Harley’s solo book. There are elements of it in this movie. I’d have loved to have seen any of those storylines they did for HQ on the big screen. That book nosedived when they left.
