I think I would have loved having something like this show as a kid. It would have helped me a lot as well. So while I am happy for all the kids and teens who grow up with shows like this today, I can't help but also feel a little melancholic, cause I didn't have it when I needed it most.

Go easy on Tao, Seb. He had to witness all the bullying from last year and just wants to protect him from that. He does let his insecurity (of being alone) cloud his judgement I think, but it's understandable. We all need friends like Tao. Great Reaction seb! xoxo <3

What Nick is doing is actually not that different than what Ben is did in terms of how it can impact the partner's mental health. A bit more manageable when the person isn't an asshole, but it's still difficult being kept a secret. Speaking from experience.

Thank you for watching this show. I can really relate to Nick. In middle school, I was a weird mix between geek and masculine sports guy, and I was popular among many of the popular guys but I had this ENORMOUS secret that I was mortified anyone would find out. But then I met some guys I liked and I wanted to be with them and touch them and not have to hide that. So after a lot of mental homework, I came out to my friends and my family and my entire school and my association football team aged 15. I was lucky; my authenticity made people feel awkward sometimes but everyone - even the macho guys - at least appreciated me for speaking my truth and allowed me to live the youth I had always dreamed of living. Such experiences gave me a warm feeling that I can still feel when watching shows like this. I'm really glad you like it, your streams make me feel happy. I was planning on waiting for you to finish ATLA and then see if I wanted to stick around. Now I'm pretty sure I will!

They definitely made Tao appear more annoying and unreasonable than he actually is. He's really just very protective of Charlie because of what happened the previous year. He got bullied and that had a very negative impact on Charlie's mental health. He always feels like he's a burden to everybody, and after the Ben situation, we know that sadly he's easily manipulated because of this. Tao was one of the only ones who cared for him. (Although there is a plot twist that isn't mentioned in this season, but you can explore that in the graphic novels). So Tao is really hesitant when one of the boys from the rugby team befriends him. I think that when Harry throws the ball at Tao's face, it just reinforced his opinion that they are up to no good. Also, since he does not know Nick at all, he thinks he's like the others. He is a little bit dramatic and pessimistic though. Nick definitely agreed at the end because he felt pressured to do so. Also, to avoid a third degree from his friends. Of course, most of the times people don't really care if you go out with someone or not, but I think he's just being extra careful to not be outed when he hasn't even explored his own sexuality yet. Maybe knowing Charlie's own experience with being outed and bullied also made him more anxious than he would've been. So, in general, Tao's just overprotective. But in the series he's like "extra-overprotective" and dramatic. Nick is still trying to conform to other people's idea of him because he's still discovering himself and he's confused. This is fitting because the general theme is "change". As Elle said, sometimes change is a good thing, but it can be scary. So we should just take it slowly and put ourselves out there.
