Certainly was some YT comments to avoid about the Hippo and the meaning of the "Asylum". I thought this was a really great episode. Not only did it give us copious amounts of backstory, it managed to do it in a way that furthered the plot at the same time, pretty impressive. With the way the Hippo God described where they were I think the parts in particular where Steven and Marc went to see Dr Harrow was when they were in deep distress. Since that whole place I think was supposed to ease them into the afterlife without causing too much confusion, I think when they were very confused or distressed they drifted into that room until they felt better again. I was surprised we didn't get any of the third personality (maybe even more than 3 later down the line). I thought this before but I wondered if the third personality was created to allow "Marc" to kill without distress. There must have been a particularly harrowing kill for him at some point, or just some tipping point where it was too much. I thought the whole Asylum bit and the desert bit of the underworld was super cool. I assume with all those souls coming down that probably means Amitt has been released in some way, or maybe that was just all the followers they were sacrificing since that zombie looked like it was killing multiple people even before they found Amitt. I guess the finale will just be Marc getting back alive, Khonshu being saved. Arthur being killed and Amitt being either stopped from coming back or just immediately being trapped again. Then maybe the last 10 minutes or so setting him up into the wider MCU somehow. Not sure what will happen with Steven. He technically shouldn't count as a separate soul so there is no reason he couldn't come back. Though maybe not immediately in this next episode.

great, now I'm sad lol

I think the guy outside the funeral is Mark? I think he just was being vague about it at the start of the episode because he didn't want to bring Steven's attention to their mother's funeral? I could be wrong tho

yeh I thought it was Marc outside the funeral, that being the pain that took him over the edge and for Steven to take a lot of the control from that point onwards

I can see this and Wandavision decided to have the same theme for their penultimate episodes, and that theme is PAIN 🥲 (Both characters even fall to their knees overwhelmed with sadness….Marvel, why are you trying to make me *feel* at midnight? 😩) Oscar Isaac knocked it out of the park. His ability to transition between Marc and Steven, who now have distinct personality traits, was impressive. I don’t think this is the last we’ve seen of ****** (IT BETTER NOT be at least 😤 🔪)

This was honestly a mistake to watch before bed because I could not stop thinking about this episode 😅 My only finale prediction is that the third personality will not make an appearance until the end of that episode, maybe even just a post credit tease for a future project.

This episode was so emotionally loaded. I am curious as to how they will wrap everything up in the last episode.

Santos Luna Ramirez

What a great episode! That bedroom scene broke my heart. 6 in total is not enough 😩

Another great reaction video!I hope this doesn’t seem spoilery, but I’m so happy that they kept the character Jewish. It’s a major point in the comics (where his father is actually a rabbi). I’m Sephardic Jewish (a Spanish Jew) and people really have trouble wrapping their heads around the fact that there are lots of us and not every Jewish person looks like the Ashkenazi (German, Polish) Jewish stereotype. I’m so glad that they cast a Guatemalan/Cuban actor in this role and didn’t make a big deal about the fact that he’s still a Jewish character.

Jeff Cabrera

I’m also glad that they included this aspect of the character. Because his faith is a significant part of his identity in the comic, I was worried for a minute that they wouldn’t include it.

I really love this episode. It showed how all that trauma accumulated until Marc couldn't take it anymore, and dissociated to "avoid" experiencing the abuse. The brain will do anything to avoid certain emotions, when it gets too intense, as a defense mechanism. It was a very hard episode to watch personally. Oscar Isaac was absolutely perfect. His acting is just getting better and better. I really hope Steven comes back or I will be so sad. I love him so much. Anyways, I don't think the 3rd personality has appeared in this episode. But I am not 100% sure, because the scene in which he picks up the crystal pyramid could be him. I feel like he will “officially” appear at the last minute next episode as a cliffhanger or something.

One theory I saw is that the third personality (with a cut on his nose) was in fact in the opening scene. His accent does sound a bit different from Marc's?

Jeff Cabrera

I did see that theory as well. Hopefully they confirm it next episode 🤞🏽
