I didn't want to say it last episode just in case but can now. I read the manga before watching this and the Eren bit was obviously way less obvious as their was no voice to give it away lol. I was suspecting it was him though, especially with the name Kruger. I think my concentration was a bit shot as I was struggling a bit with following the long dialogue this episode lol. You were right in that it's the grandad, I think that was made clear enough in this episode to say. Also why he has the red armband because of Zeke being a Warrior.

"This anime is different" Aot is def very different then your standard anime and it really goes against many of the tropes that many anime or shows have , I think it's become it's more of its own independent piece. Also they aren't forcibly humanizing them social showing us the perspective of what children that are eldians in the rest of the world have to deal with and how the island of parodies is what partially poses a problem for them
