I can sense Tickle being very excited 😂 I still need to watch the first Alien reaction, so that will probably be my evening viewing

KiwiJello

I don't know why I hadn't realized you did not see this yet! I guess I am watching AlienS today :)

Jeff Cabrera

Oh man, you’re gonna make some very vocal people on YT very happy with this one! 😂 To be fair, it is amazing (the first one is a classic, but I much preferred the direction they went in with this one). It definitely solidified Ripley as a horror/action icon for sure 👌🏽

Jeff Cabrera

Alien Queen is another one that will be pleased. (I remember every stream they just would not let it go 🤣🤣🤣)

Also this is on Disney+

Ruby

Just to be sure beforehand, is the runtime of this 2hours 17mins (theatrical), or 2hours 34mins (director's cut)?

Seb, I've watched plenty of your reaction videos here on Patreon and YT, and I have to say this is the most I've ever laughed out loud at your facial expressions and comments. Great reaction as always! Do you plan to react to Peaky Blinders?

Good reaction. You picked up on a lot of things missed by most reactors, like the subtext at the end of two mothers protecting their young, with Ripley threatening the eggs and the Queen being intelligent enough to understand this. Shame you didn't react to the director's cut, as it's superioror and fleshes out the characters. You also learn about Ripley's daughter.

The Silence of the Lambs is a classic and one of my favourites. Would most love to see you watch the Nolan films you've missed, starting with my favourite Memento.

This is a great film for sure. I think it is better than the first one, but they have a different thematic. I preferred the pacing of this one, it had more action for sure but we didn't see the Aliens for ages just like the first one so I wouldn't say this was "faster". Sigourney Weaver I feel like has such a presence about her, even in a couple other films I've seen of her. She is definitely a super strong female lead that is somewhat rare, even for today. Most strong female leads now are just crazy skilled/strong or just a sass machine. Ripley was more about bravery and persistence rather than just the appearance or aesthetic of strength. Bishop was clearly a red herring in this film and I think we were supposed to be very wary of him even though he was good in the end. I watched this around the time of Aliens v Predators and Freddy vs Jason, and went on a bit of an old school binge. The first two Alien films and the first Predator film were just sooooo good and for more classic standard horrors the Nightmare on Elm Street and Jason franchises were honestly really good as well. I feel like the classic horrors of the 70s and 80s just feel a lot better to me than the newer ones in general. The new ones will jump scare me to death but they could probably do that with just sound anyways and often there isn't that much more to them.

As far as recommendations go, I'd be happy to see ones I haven't seen before and that is a lot of them 😂 Of ones you said, they are all good. I would say for Godfather though, definitely have subtitles on, I feel like when I watched that I struggled with understanding a chunk of dialogue because of heavy accents. I will second Tickle in that Memento is great and I think you would really like it. I had a quick look through some of the top IMDB films by date, honestly haven't seen that many pre-2000 classics that you also haven't seen or mentioned. Maybe some Tarantino with Pulp Fiction (1994) or Kill Bill (2003). Usual Suspects (1995) I feel like I remember thinking was really good. I don't know that I have ever heard you mention it but I feel like there is no way you haven't seen Fight Club (1999). Donnie Darko (2001) for some craziness and Jake Gyllenhaal. Honestly though I would be excited to see whatever of the older classics, particularly ones I haven't seen yet.

Seeing how much you pay attention to detail and the plot in general I think you'd really like The Babadook, if you haven't seen it.

You asked if you didn't know of a female protagonist more badass than Ripley? Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor is just as equally badass.

Ruby

The Exorcist (1973) is a fantastic horror classic assuming you haven't already seen it. Another (non horror) one, depending on how far back you want to go is A Streetcar Named Desire (1951). Apocalypse Now (1979) is a classic war film if you're into that. A longer version of the original was released in 2001 as Apocalypse Now Redux.

DANIEL JAMES

My suggestions, The Abyss, another James Cameron classic that seems to get forgotten. Also, have you seen the Mission Impossible films? They started in the 90s and are GREAT! Here's an classic series for you, the James Bond films, starting from Doctor No. Everyone seems to just watch the Daniel Craig films on here.

Brad Johnson

The Abyss is insanely good but try and watch the directors cut. The added storylines really change the whole meaning of the film
