Dancing Zemo was something I didn’t know I needed til this episode 💀 (Meanwhile the soundtrack this episode is still on my playlist 👌🏽) Fun fact: The MCU was previously never able to use the fictional city of Madripoor because it was primarily used in X-men comics (a license that was held by Fox). With the Fox acquisition, Marvel not only got those characters back from them (which got a lot of the headlines), but also elements/locations that they also weren’t able to use from those comics.

I loved the vibe of this episode. Zemo is such a cool character and with the other two they are a great trio. Mandripoor is such a cool addition and hope they use it again in the franchise. A pirate island sets up some different locations on Earth for once. Good to see old characters again in general with Zemo and Sharon, all these more minor characters getting so much more airtime is great. I might be barking completely up the wrong tree but I had a thought that Sharon could be the Power Broker and it kinda mostly fits together in my head. Though whether Zemo knows that messes with the whole dynamic of what is going on. I thought Zemo could be the Power Broker as well though. It is really very hazy who is good and bad in this show right now. Maybe they are just all shades of bad, that would be something a bit new.

i love zemo he is totally a mood. i also love it when you miss something because you talk over it and when they say it again youre so surprised hahaha idk why😂 (breaking zemo out for example)

Btw Seb - the new Cap, played by Wyatt Russell, is Kurt Russell's son. So the attractiveness genes are strong lol. And agreed, he looks sooo much better without the helmet

I need your shirt. :) I'm having a blast revisiting the MCU.

In the comics Baron Zemo used the mask, he was not only a Baron but specialist soldier much like our SAS, hence the fighting skills.

At the time of airing 1K Bitcoin was about 65 millions dollars. Baron Zemo killed Nagel to stop him making more SS serums. He killed the others when they escaped because he is with the others but also has his own agenda.

about your comment on how Sharon should be “nice” and to “be glad because they’re helping her” BOTH Sam and Bucky were only PARDONED because they had Avanger status. Sharon had to leave her career and family behind because she helped Steve and the guys out IN RETURN OF NOTHNG I might add. Sharon explicitly said how she wasn’t gonna take charity from them so then that’s when Sam offered her a deal. They are going to help her get pardoned BECAUSE she’s going to help THEM first (finding the scientist who was able to recreate the serum from studying Isaiah’s blood). Love you and your content, Seb, but that was a bad take. edit: removed the bit about me dictating what goes in the final edit 💀 now THAT was a bad take

ANYWAY when you mentioned TWICE that you were surprised John Walker didn’t take the guys head off after spitting on him 👀💀💀

Knights Who Say Sledge

Dancing Zemo took the internet by STORM when this episode was released. So much so that Marvel shortly thereafter released additional footage of dancing Zemo - it's available on YouTube and whatnot.

She basically sacrificed everything and everyone she knew and loved for Cap and got nothing in return, she probably felt used and abandoned. She was listed as gone after the snap, so it makes sense that the Cap didn't try to look for her, I'm sure he would have done what he could for her during those five years if he knew she was still around so I don't blame him, but that doesn't change that she basically lost everything in her life.

We all said the same thing, Seb... "They only gave us one shot of Zemo dancing??" ... and then they released the extended dance scene. Enjoy. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NMqY0_dn_s

Its a shame that because this is more reality based, it was intended to be aired before Wandavision. People don't like how grounded it is, the injustice and the racism being depicted they want just fantasy. Yet I found Wandavision tedious and Loki started ok but got boring as I didn't take to a main character but the WS/Bucky is my fav MCU character. BTW if you do read these Seb, its Vana1970 from You Tube.

You should have subs on mate, you are missing a lot when you talk over them

True. It's hard to catch all of the details in a show like this even WITHOUT having to react constantly lol

The flag smashers are definitely trying to be good. They've sort of explained it in small pieces of dialogue, but during the blip, stuff was wild. With 50% of the population suddenly gone, the world had to come together and help each other out. You hear the flag smashers talk about wanting to go back to that time because borders didn't mean much and people were getting along. When everyone returned, people who moved during the previous 5 years were relocated to camps because governments and people who reappeared were reclaiming their land. The relocated people in these camps don't have medicine, food, and other supplies that they need. The flag smashers are trying to help those people and return the world to a borderless world once again where everyone can be united. These jobs they are pulling are to steal resources so they can redistribute them. I hope that makes sense!

Inhuman Paradox

That's not it. People are fine with grounded CBM stuff (The same people loved Daredevil after all). People just didn't gravitate towards the themes of this show as much (I'm not talking about the racism either, I'm talking about the villain. Personally, I never sympathized with her. The show kept telling me I was supposed to feel sorry for her, but she murdered tons of innocent people and never showed any remorse in doing so. That was my biggest problem, the show kept telling me what a fallen angel this mass murdering psychopath was and I didn't buy it for a second. The finale gets especially preachy without actually offering an answer, but I won't get into it since I don't want to spoil anything). If anything, the racial part of the show was the part most people I talked to liked, the actual realistic element. It was the villain and the finale that really put a lot of people I know off, including myself. The racism part was actually pretty well done and handled tastefully and realistically, which makes sense seeing as the MCU has a track record of handling racial commentary very well (Luke Cage and Black Panther were even better handlings of it). It's not just "people just want escapism". It was the show handling a few themes clumsily. I still liked the show fine, but even I can acknowledge that.

I'd recommend watchin these shows with the closed captions, makes it a lot easier to catch details when you're also reacting to stuff and talking. You might understand A LOT more about what Zemo is doing and what the Flag Smashers are after if you heard half the stuff they said.

Jo

Zemo killed Dr Nagel because he hates even the concept of super humans, and so wanted to stop any more serum from being created. You've got to understand that he's not on Sam and Bucky's side, he is not a good guy. He's still a maniac trying to push his ideals onto others, he's just helping out so that he can stop the super soldiers. Karli and the Flag Smashers were people who didn't get snapped away, and actually preferred the world after the snap, because there were open borders, people helping people. But when half the population came back, the GRC (Global Repatriation Council) prioritized helping the people who were brought back rather than the people who never disappeared. So the people who stayed there were suddenly being kicked out of their new homes, put into "Displacement Camps" while the people who got brought back were allowed to just move right back into their old lives.

Inhuman Paradox

"Why is she so sass" Because she's been on the run for 5 years. She didn't blip out, and Steve flat out abandoned her after the snap first happened and left her on the run. She has every right to hate the U.S. AND the shield.

Thanks for that link. Love that there is a 10 hour version and it has 100k+ views 😂🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻

The purple mask is what Zemo wears in the comics

This episode is one of my favorites! Zemo is a total mood and I really enjoyed the dynamic between him, Sam, and Bucky. Sharon returning for the first time since Civil War was the icing on the cake. I wish they'd spent more time in Madripoor, as I think it's fascinating. I agree, the set design is insane! And the reveal at the very end...I was so hyped when this episode originally aired! So happy to watch it again!

Fun fact: The Princess Bar which you noticed them passing is a favorite hangout of Wolverine when he's laying low from the rest of the world.
