I think Wilhelm’s internal struggle this episode is very well done and accurately portrayed. While discussing the kiss, he can’t even bring himself to tell Simon what he is “not”. Yet (even without any dialogue) you could feel the amount of longing he has with every look he gives Simon. I also loved how giddy he was talking about his “crush” with his brother (and that his brother didn’t assume that it was a girl), which not only makes his brother even more likable but makes the ending of this episode even more heartbreaking. **There’s very subtle foreshadowing in Episode 1 that Wilhelm will assume the role of crown prince when they make him switch seats with Erik (during the apology press statement).

I probably didn't realise before but when I realised in this episode that Erik was the Crown Prince, that Wilhelm could probably be almost free to do whatever as he doesn't need to carry on the royal line. Well the ending ruined all that 😭 The pressure that must put on a person must be so immense. I don't know Swedish culture that well but hoping they are open enough to break that barrier here and them to end up happy. Please!

One thing I LOVE about this show is Simon's ability to not let his feelings for Wilhiem cloud his dignity. After they kiss, Wilheim has mixed emotions and wants to backtrack by saying he wants to just be friends and forget about it, and Simon literally said "Say less homie" and forced Wilheim to reconsider his words and actions and face his feelings head on. LOVE THAT. also great reaction <3 xoxo

I love how much this show tells without dialogue, particularly regarding what characters are feeling. Wilhelm now being the crown prince will surely complicate things, it's not a coincidence that he told his brother people only care about him.

I just really love the whole vibe of this show, the way it's shot, the music, the quiet moments where they really let the actors shine with their facial expressions and mannerisms. It feels really natural. Really enjoying this rewatch and seeing you appreciate the show too 😊

There are different reasons why August doesn't want to sell off his father's legacy, partly sentimental and partly because it would affect his social life, as you probably noticed watching later episodes :)
