The Chipmunks and especially the Chipettes were a significant part of my early influences for visual style and character design, especially their sleeker visual updates from "The Chipmunk Adventure" 1987 feature film, which thanks to fortuitous production timing employed laid-off Disney animators including Glen Keane and Dan Haskett after the poor box office performance of "The Black Cauldron".
