Evening, folks! I had this little comic put together in response to a common notation I hear about one of the biggest stories that we run!

First and foremost, credit to Sintenda for the wonderful artwork! Go and check them out on Twitter, they make all sorts of lovely soft arts! https://twitter.com/Void_Soda

TL;DR: Discussing the difficulty of explaining GFL and what the canonical plot is for FOtF!

*************************************************************************************************

I've often heard the complaint from new readers that they don't know the source material or the characters, and while I try my best to mitigate that through a couple of tactics, I completely understand why someone might feel... overwhelmed when looking at this huge gallery of stories.

There's a ton of characters, many of which have yet to receive artwork, and a lot of deeper themes pave the way in this series. It's not easy to penetrate something like that!

The problem boils down to the actual backstory of the series itself. Girls' Frontline is complicated. It's an alternate future sci-fi story that's true timeline begins back in the 1800's, and whether by rewrites, translation errors, complications, or other media, ultimately does not add up to make a cohesive front. In fact, I've had to heavily rewrite a majority of the game's backstory just to make the damn thing make sense lol. My personally constructed timeline has over 100 nodes and 30 pages of information that, ultimately, you don't really need.

All you really need to enjoy Filling Out the Frontline is this.

Spas-12 is a food-loving T-Doll, a Tactical Gynoid that has been designed specifically for combat. With her ruby red eyes and her fluffy white hair, Spas is aware that she's a little bit chubby. She doesn't know why she loves food as much as she does, but it helps take her mind off of how everything outside seems to be going so poorly...

Even so, she can't help but love working at Griffin & Kryuger! As a shotgun specialist, Spas is used to being right on the frontline, using her ballistic shields to protect the other T-Dolls, and leading the charge against Sangvis Ferrei!

But things change when she's reassigned to Squad 707's Alpha Echelon to work directly beneath Commander Winters. Spas hasn't left the office in weeks, not even allowed to return to the dormitory, and the other Dolls here are so very strange. They're too... candid. Too blatant. And far, far, far, far too fat.

Grizzly, with her buxom body and fatter smile, keeps prodding Spas to share another cream pie. RFB spends most of the day on her increasingly-fat ass playing games and sipping on milkshakes. Then there is Miss Mosin-Nagant, the leader of 707 Alpha, and a Doll so huge that the others are referring to her as Miss Marshmallow. And while Commander Winters is fit and strong... there's just something about his frosty blue eyes.

Things are changing quicker and quicker, and Spas is beginning to lose sight of her toes. She's a glutton for food, and there's so much around, but isn't all this a little too much? Breakfast, snack, brunch, snack, lunch, dinner, snack, snack, and, if she's good, ice cream for dessert. It's as if they're trying to feed her till she can barely think!

However, between her huge meals and soft tummy rubs, Spas' mind wanders.

What could possibly be the point of this? She should be in combat, protecting the assets of Griffin & Kryuger. Isn't that why she was made by the I.O.P.? The reason she became a shotgun specialist? How could this possibly help? Sangivs was winning! Dolls were getting hurt, humans were risking their lives for this war! Why aren't they getting the military involved?! Why are they just sitting on the butts, eating enough to gain pound after pound?!?

And there's others, too! Commander Bellows, Commander Cheng, and Commander Miller as well! Miss WA2000, Miss USP Compact, Miss Welrod... and the girl with the bright amber eyes and the feline smile. UMP45. All of the Dolls are hiding from the others, all of the Commanders are speaking in whispers. Spas knows she's not supposed to ask questions, but she feels almost as if a pressure is building inside her.

They were weapons, weren't they?! Technological marvels created to assist humanity? So what's the point of all of this?! Eating so much, allowing your body to become so covered in fat?! How can they fight?!? How can this help?!

What is the purpose of 707's Alpha Echelon?!?

I'll admit, I was one of them that was overwhelmed with a series I didn't know. This was super helpful :)
