“Okay students. Have a good weekend.” Lilly said as the bell rang and the students headed to their final classes. “Remember we still need a nurse for the Capulet family! If anyone would like to volunteer…” she called after them, but nobody seemed to jump at the bait. “Fooey.” Lilly said, after all the students left.

Rai hadn’t moved much since she and Lilly had been called leads. She looked over Lilly, who was slumped against her desk pouting. She groaned and walked up, trying not to think of how she spent last night grabbing her plush body, and how she’d be likely doing that for the play… She wasn’t unattractive, but that wasn’t a road Rai was looking for. “Have a good weekend, show stars!” Ichigo Amateru called as he exited. Rai resisted grabbing the nearest desk and throwing it at him, instead raising her hand in a gesture that Lilly wouldn’t be able to appreciate. Ichigo roared with laughter at the display as he walked out.

Lilly’s smile was a rueful one as Rai approached her. The two girls both let out a sigh. “I had intended to take the role of the nurse myself,” Lilly started, “but that no longer seems viable. We may have to elect a student ourselves. Possibly Rika, she seemed a fine actress.”

“Yeeaaaa I don’t think she’d enjoy playing your support… no offense, but after today, I think she hates you.”

Lilly’s face pulled downwards in concern. “Oh my… I hope I didn’t offend her.”

“Honestly, she seems like a jerk. She was making fun of Benjamin when he came in. I don’t doubt she thought it hysterical when I got the part… I wasn’t exactly taking everything in though.” She laughed awkwardly, and touched her fingers together.

“I was surprised at that as well. Seeing as you’re… Well, you know.”

Rai squinted at the older woman. “I’m what?” she asked.

“Well, I mean… you’re just not… suited for the part. You know?” Lilly seemed to understand she had just entered a mine field of a conversation, though she looked to defuse the situation.

“I don’t really know.” Rai said, feeling herself getting mad. “I know all of the lines to the play, I studied Shakespeare in depth and this one in particular. I know each character, their part, even who inspired them in Shakespeare’s mind. I think I’ll do fine.”

“Oh, no, I don’t mean… It’s not that you won’t do well. It’s that… Well…”

“Well?”

“Romeo is a man.”

It took a moment for that to register with Rai. She’d thought Lilly was going to say she was inexperienced, too shy to get cozy on up to her and close to her, and was honestly worrying so much about kissing her that the gender difference hadn’t even registered.

“HEY!” She whirled on the empty classroom “Those little…” She growled, and was as threatening in both voice and appearance to a Pomeranian puppy.

“I for one think you’re very feminine Rai.” Lilly said comfortingly.

Rai looked down at herself, at the dress shirt that obscured her chest and the pants that, although better fitting, still hung loosely around her curves. She squeezed her small chest in sadness. “Thanks…” She sighed.

Someday, she’d fill out a dress normally.

Lilly extended her hand and touched the short girls shoulder. She firmly grasped it, pulling her closer and into a hug.

He face being in Lilly’s giant chest did not make things better.

******************************************************************************

Hisao walked out of the weight training room as the final bell of the day rang, dismissing all the students to their extracurricular activities, or to just go home. Hisao had seen a news report of some school in Tokyo having an Occult club where the students met after hours at one another’s homes and tried talking to ghosts and demons. He wondered if there was like a religious club where people could meet. They probably had them at St. Mary’s.

The thought of the opposing school reminded Hisao that he was to go and coach the track team. He went and showered, got dressed and combed his hair, and set out to head to the track. The afternoon breeze promptly messed his hair up.

‘Maybe I should check out what ghost makes my hair always be messy…’ he thought. A few students were arriving at the field, some already sitting in the bleachers in their gym uniforms. A pair of girls that were on the field were playing patty cake. Given the size of the two girls, and that they were the team’s best and only shot-putters, Hisao was pretty impressed their hands didn’t get bruises.

Yuki stood off to the side, arm wrapped on the stands as he waited. He waved to Hisao with a friendly grin as he walked over. “Okay, so, divide and conquer? Don’t push them too hard though, they’ve got to run tomorrow morning after all and would probably like to spend tonight being able to sleep without their muscles killing them.”

As if on que, a shout of laughter came up and Hisao turned to see Victor tumble down the hill. He hopped up quickly, and scooped up an ice pack he’d dropped when he tumbled, placing it to his thigh and wincing. Lilly had taught him a few words this morning, as they were far too busy last night. He smiled, his skin remembering the sensation of pressing against her soft body, grabbing his hands and pushing fingers into her as he gripped at her sides, thrusting against her. Her soft legs tied arou-

*Snap Snap Snap* “Hey, you awake?”

Hisao was jolted back to reality as Yuki snapped his fingers in his face. “Oh, wha? Yea no I’m… I’m good. Sorry, got distracted.”

Yuki looked tense. “You can’t get distracted now! Tomorrow we go against one of the roughs teams in the league! Their team leader is a vicious woman, who-”

“I actually know who the leader is. She sent me a note with one of her students this morning.”

“This morning??” Yuki said horrified. “What did it say? You know her? She evil, I tell ya. Evil evil evil evil evil!”

“You are getting way to into this…” Hisao said, removing the not from his pocket and showing it to Yuki. He looked at it, the flipped it around and looked at it again. He inspected the entire note, front and back, before handing it back with a nod.

‘Probably looking for a mark where Emi left poison on it.’ Hisao thought darkly.

“This goes deeper than I thought. Are you sure you’re up for this? Last time we faced them, she was challenging me to a race. We were soundly beaten, but she said she’d concede the entire event if I could beat her. I knew I’d lose, but damned if I didn’t try.” Yuki said gravely. The thought of the large bearded man sprinting against Emi, the short tiny girl on her clacking legs, was enough to put a smile on Hisao’s face.

“Well, then we’ll have to beat her fairly this time.” Hisao said. “Go on, the fields yours. I need to get the team ready to run.”

Yuki and Hisao separated, calling to their respective teams for practice. Hisao opened up with the cross country this time, giving them a route he’d drawn on a map yesterday and told them to be back within the next hour, and any who didn’t wouldn’t run tomorrow. As Victor got prepped to join them, Hisao clasped on his neck.

[No you do not.] Hisao said in formal memorized Russian. [You rest.]

Victor just nodded his head, bowing it gratefully towards Hisao and went to the bleachers with the others. Hisao opened up with the hurdlers. They were still pretty bad, honestly. Their jumping form was awful, many were faulting against the hurdles. Though, without Akido sprinting into and through every single hurdle, they were at least passable as a team that was trying.

Next, he had the sprinters go. They did the hundred meter sprint, than the two hundred, then a race around the track. Hisao was reminded, from his position on the bleachers by the start, of a horse race. Akido, had won the first two runs, as he seemed to be winning this one by running at full tilt ahead of the whole group. But Hisao was able to see that one of the other sprinters, a girl from his Science class name Hitome, was keeping a bit back though her form and pace seemed really good. She had been in the middle of the group, but as they rounded the final corner the girl began pumping her arms heavily, her strides becoming longer and she sprinted ahead of the group. She quickly closed the gap on Akido and shot past the panting boy to the finish, met with several cheers from the watchers. She pumped her hand in the air as she slowed, evidentially proud, and Akido and her shook hands afterwards. Hisao instructed the sprinters that they’d be separated into short and long distance groups for tomorrow, and sent them to sit and get a drink.

The relay racers came next, and Hisao broke the 7 students into two groups of two. One of the kids, their 8th, had decided to not come in to practice. He didn’t seem to like having to try, as one of the students attested. Hisao had noticed that a few of the cross country runners had also subbed out. He’d make sure to talk with Yuki about that, as people who didn’t show up for practice, no matter any talent they have, should not be allowed to compete over those who commit. “Victor!” Hisao called out. The Russian immigrant worked his way over to them, hopping from leg to leg. Hisao assigned him to be the closer for Team B. Each student would run one full lap, handing off a baton from runner to runner as they went, amounting to a collective mile each. The students were stacked at their lines and Hisao gave out a sharp “Go!”

The first two runners ran neck and neck for the first lap, with A’s pulling slightly ahead. A team completed their handoff and the runner sprinted ahead not even a full second ahead of B, who was right behind him. They ran through the turn, A going a bit out of her line and B was able to close the distance, pulling slightly ahead. The second hand off, and team A fumbled it, dropping the stick to the ground. The runner scooped it off, but they’d lost precious seconds grabbing the stick. Victor and his opponent went out to the starting positions, and the boy stretched his legs as he waited. His opponent, a girl, eyed him and said something as she hopped back and forth, stretching her chest out in an obvious show to distract him with it. Hisao watched as Victor laughed and caught the Russian word [tiny] as he did while motioning to his chest and made a sign for small with his hands. She gapped at him angrily as he stretched backwards, his arm reaching out as Team B’s runner closed the distance and transferred the rod to him. He took off, but Hisao could already see that he wasn’t running all out. His legs probably hurt like hell, but the lead he had helped him as he entered the first turn as A’s runner received her baton. She sprinted after him, slowly but surely closing the distance as the Russian boy struggled to maintain an even pace.

“Come on. You can do this.” Hisao said under his breath.

******************************************************************************

“Come on. I can do this.” Rai whispered.

Her stomach disagreed with her as it moaned at her that she was too full. This was nothing like cookie day. Those were easy. 10 cookies was nothing. She could have eaten double that, but gave the rest to Lilly. But this… Ice cream was much more filling.

She shot a dirty look towards Lilly, who sat smiling at the desk across form her. ‘Oh, I couldn’t possibly ruin my dinner with Hisao. I’m so pretty, I’ve had enough sweets. Mynah mynah mynah.’ Rai thought bitterly as she forced herself through brain freeze. She knew she was being unfair, that Lilly had a point, but by God this sucked. Kim came over and patted her on the back of the neck. “Everything going good so far?” She asked.

“I may need Lilly to roll me out of here, but I think I’m okay…” Rai said, breathing heavily. She was almost done. She looked again at the other woman, who had her head tilted with a smile and was giggling at some unknown joke that Rai didn’t care to understand right now.

Just a little bit more, and she’d be finished. She knew already that the first thing she was going to do when she got home, besides probably vomit up an amazing mix of sherbet and minty ice cream, was turn into a nice couch potato and pass out into a food coma.

“Rai? Would it be an issue if I actually had a scoop of the Vanilla?”

******************************************************************************

Lilly and Rai walked from the school towards the track shortly after class had ended. The vanilla was entirely worth maybe spoiling her dinner, but Lilly’s inner mind chided her that she knew very well she’d be able to finish her plate tonight. She vowed to try and not get a desert to go with it… Well, she’d try at least.

Rai kept letting out groans periodically. “Are you well?” Lilly asked her. “Do you have brain damage?”

Rai made an unflattering sound in response, which made Lilly giggle. She thought it was humorous that her and Rai were being paid extra by the school for ‘teaching’ the students by eating themselves silly. It wasn’t something she was about to submit a complaint about, though she could understand just how Kimura got to the place she was in.

“Hey there, girls.” Spoke a voice that her mind had been searching for, making her smile so large that she showed her teeth.

“Good evening, coach Nakai.” Lilly said, bowing her head to her husband.

“And a most wondrous evening to you, chef Nakai.” He said. He took her hand in hers and kissed it.

“Myyyyynnnnaaaahh.” Rai whined.

Hisao let out a throaty laugh. “You got stuck with it today, huh?”

“Mhm.” Rai replied moaning. “I’m gonna head home. You two have fun tonight.”

Lilly heard her feet start to step away when she called after her. “You’ll be meeting us here tomorrow morning, right? With your sister?”

“Oh, yea. Sure. When is the meet?”

“Eleven in the morning is when they start, but we’ll be here about ten-thirty.”

“Alrighty. We’ll be here around then, then. She’s coming in early, I have no idea where to take her before that.”

“Hmmm, well the creamery is still open.” Lilly suggested the nearby ice cream shop.

She giggled into her hand as Rai groaned, her voice becoming farther and farther away as she walked to the school lot and left. “I take it that means no.” Hisao said to his wife with a laugh. “Have fun making ice cream today?”

Lilly nodded, taking her husband by the arm and tucking herself into it. “I missed you. I missed feeling your body against mine today.”

He hummed contently. “I missed you as well.” He tucked his head into the crock of her neck and kissed her beneath her hair. Lilly made a small gasp, the sense of pleasure spreading through her as she thumped Hisao on the shoulders. “Laaaterr.” She whined. “Let’s go home and get changed before our date.”

She felt Hisao brush her hair, his fingers tucking a strand behind her ear. “Rai did a magnificent job with this.” He said.

“Just wait till you see my dress.” She said. She folded her cane into a small baton and took his arm and they walked arm and arm heading home.

******************************************************************************

Hisao admired his wife as they stood waiting for the door-man to check their reservations. She was wearing a beautiful blue and golden kimono, which looked amazing on her. Sure, her stomach showed a bit more in this dress than it had in the one with the corset, the dress hugging her every curve, but he wasn’t about to start complaining. Especially after last night. Memories of soft comfort flooded back to him, as the door-man found their name. He led them to an elevator, which raised them and a group of other people to the restaurant proper. Lilly’s hip pressing against him as she tightly held herself against him.

The elevator doors opened, and waves of nostalgia washed over Hisao as he got a look at their surroundings. Dark red wall paper coated the walls, with a dark brown wooden desk upon which a few receptionist stood. The receptionists stepped forwards, taking individual couples to their tables. The people around were dressed in nothing but their finest, as the town’s occupants enjoyed a taste of the rich life. Their receptionist took them to a nearby window seat, wished them a happy evening and left them to their table. The lights from nearby buildings as well as cars far below set the scene of a beautiful landscape as the setting sun illuminated the world in a soft orange. “The music sounds lovely.” Lilly said as she sat in the wall seat. Hisao hadn’t even heard the soft jazz playing in the background until she pointed it out, and before he knew it he was tapping his foot along with the soft beat of the drummer’s cymbals. It makes a nice contrast to the soft hum of conversation and clattering of dishes and glasses.

“This place is wonderful.” Hisao said, sitting across from her. Lilly’s blue dress looks even darker in the dim lights, which just made her white skin glow even more. It was one of the lightest things in the room, and along with her golden hair, Lilly stood out. She has a slight tilt to her head, and I can tell she’s listening to something. A soft smile spreading on her face speaks to the fact that she’s pleased.

“The music or are we listening in, again?” Hisao asks. He knows her well enough to know that she’d either involved herself in the music, or that somebody was talking about them.

“‘That guy is really cute.’ ‘No way, do you see the girl? I have dibbs on that table.’ ‘What? It’s in my section.’ ‘Too late, called it.’” Lilly quotes, and indeed she straightens as a young man approaches the table, and Hisao can see a woman looking at the back of his head furiously.

“Madam, monsieur.” The boy says, bowing respectively to each of them. “Can I start you two off with a sample of Moscato tonight?”

“I won’t turn you down.” Hisao replied.

“Myself as well, please.” Lilly said, nodding. The waiter looked at her curiously, no doubt noticing her eyes and how she looked forwards at Hisao as she spoke, though he said nothing. He merely nodded, lit the candle on the table, and left.

“So, hear any other gossip lately with your super powers?”

Lilly laughed into her hand. “I have, actually. ‘Oh, that science teacher has been getting so buff lately.’ ‘Oh get a room, I saw him first.’” She put on a different voice as she mimicked each student.

“Hey, you know, it’s impolite to be listening in to student’s conversations.” Hisao said jokingly, though he had a slight blush.

“Oh, those weren’t students. Too bad for them, the buff science teacher belongs to me.” She said teasingly, as Hisao’s blush deepened and he laughed.

Another waiter, the woman who’d been shooting daggers, returned with a wine bottle.

“Can I offer you two a sample of Zinfandel?”

She asked. Lilly’s head tilted in confusion. “Ummm, yes…?” Lilly said.

“Excellent!” the woman replied. She took Hisao and Lilly’s glasses, filling them up to about a quarter of a normal serving. Hisao wished he could simply shrug at her, but Lilly’s leg found his under the table and stroked it in a sign of connecting them. They both took drinks of their glasses, Lilly humming her approval.

“Would you each like a glass?” The woman asked.

“I’ll take one.” Hisao said.

“I was actually thinking of getting Pinot Noir, if you have it.” Lilly said.

“Right away.” The woman nodded, and walked away.

“What was tha-”

“Okay, Moscato?” The male waiter had returned, brandishing a bottle.

“Oh, umm, your friend already gave us a sample… She didn’t take our orders though, just the wine.”

The waiter squinted off towards the distance where his co-worker went. “I’m sorry about that. Here, have a sample of this, and I’ll be right back to take your orders.”

He poured them each a half glass of the Moscato and hurried off. Hisao laughed as he left, and Lilly shrugged towards him, a half smile on her face.

“To free drinks.” Hisao said, and the two clinked their glasses.

The waiters, both of them, returned after a moment, each carrying a bottle of wine. Hisao received a glass of Zinfandel, and Lilly her Pinot Noir. “Can I take your orders?” they asked in unison, each ignoring the other as if they weren’t there.

Lilly put her face in her hand, laughing to herself as Hisao looked exasperated at them, but laughed all the same. “Okay, but we are not receiving two of the same dish. Got it?”

Lilly ordered a fettuccine alfredo dish, which Hisao knew from past experiences was because it would go along with her wine, and Hisao ordered four cheese ravioli with Italian sausage. The two waiters both bowed their heads after writing down both orders, and Hisao sighed. Lilly giggled at the display, reaching across the table and finding his head, moving her hand to cup his face. He smiled, which made her smile wider as her fingers danced across his features.

So much time had passed, so many differences, but Hisao felt like he was just a young boy on his first date with the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on all over again.

“I love you, Lilly.” He said, holding her hand with his own.

“I love you too, Hisao.” She said. She pulled slightly at his face, leaning forward and against the table half-standing. He returned the gesture and they kissed before sitting back down. The two waiters returned after a moment, each with a basket of bread sticks and a plate of salad, and left without a word, bumping against one another aggressively. Hisao explained it to Lilly, who once again just shrugged. He took her empty plate and unrolled her napkin of silverware onto it, grabbing a few sticks of bread and placing them on it for her before placing it in front of her. She began chewing down on the bread, making a noise of delight at the taste.

She was always good at navigating any situation despite her lack of sight, and this was no exception. A brush of her hand here, a finger stroke there, it was always something that Hisao was amazed to watch. He wouldn’t even notice her memorizing her environment if he didn’t pay attention to it, but within moments she was spooning her own salad onto her plate and chewing through her bread sticks happily. Their conversations were just in general things that happened over the last week. She blushed when Hisao brought up her popping her button on her skirt, which she still blamed on Hisao ‘shrinking her clothing.’

“Besides, you didn’t seem to mind last night.” She said coyly.

“No, no I didn’t, and I doubt I will tonight, either.” Hisao replied. She laughed airily, blushing happily as she tucked her face behind her hand.

Soon, their food came, and conversation died down as each enjoyed. Hisao sighed with relief when he saw that the waiters had not, in fact, brought multiples of the same dish. The portions were much larger than Hisao had been used to, though he supposed that explained the near 2,000 yen pricing. They shared a bit of food with one another, and Lilly managed to finish her plate as well as Hisao did his. He remembered that it wasn’t just her having more of an appetite, though working out helped turn those calories into a different sort of mass.

Lilly told Hisao, as they waited for her dessert that he insisted she share with him, about the play election.

“And poor Rai,” she said between laughs, “was given the part of Romeo.” She laughed again, and Hisao laughed along, though more because Lilly was enjoying her third glass of wine at this point and had a drunken blush forming across her nose.

“So are you going to kiss her? Make me all jealous?” Hisao asked. Lilly’s entire face turned crimson.

“S-she’s basically a student… It’sh not like that at all. It’s like presenting. Not acting.” Hisao laughed and she scowled in mock disapproval before laughing along. The waiters returned with a slice of chocolate cake that the pair enjoyed together, and it wasn’t long before they were walking out of the restaurant into the cold October air.

“You know,” Hisao said as they walked, “Halloween is coming up. I wonder if we’ll get any visitors. Maybe we should pick up some chocolates.”

Lilly laughed. “You better hide them from me, if you do. I might want to snack on a few of them. Halloween is such a bad holiday for me, I always get so sticky.”

“From the chocolate?” Hisao asked.

“Yes, it melts so quickly. Akira used to, when we were little, she used to tell me to eat it quicker, but I remembered that ‘it’s unnnlady like to scarf down food.’” She patted her tummy, and Hisao wondered if that fresh laugh was her amusement at the irony. “I don’t really care anymore, I guess. About being unlady like.”

Hisao leaned over and pecked her cheek. “You’re just you. And I love you.” He said.

“You make me feel so right, so comfy. Everything just… It all just works. I love that about you, Hisao. You’re amazing.”

Hisao smiled widely, his arm wrapped around the other woman as he stroked her hair. “Of course. You do the same for me. I never have to try around you. When I was younger, I always worried I was never fancy or well-bread enough for you. But here we are, just two kids acting like grownups and having the time of our lives doing it.

Lilly giggled. “Yes.” She agreed.

“I love you so much, Lilly. Come on. Let’s head home.”
