Lilly and Rai walked through the main doors of the mall into the cooling evening.

“Brr,” Rai said, shivering. “I thought it wasn’t supposed to get cold for at least another two months.”

“I quite like the winter, myself.” Lilly said, smiling. In her off-hand, she carried multiple bags from the shopping they had done. They had stopped at a few other locations in the mall after their dress shopping, picking up more clothing that Lilly could wear at work as well as relaxing at home. She tapped away with her cane in her main hand, and Rai wondered if it was more for show or if she actually knew where they were heading.

“Really? I picture you more as a spring kind of person.” Rai replied. “Hey, do you know which way we parked? I always get lost, and cars are so huge I can’t see mine until we’re right on top of it.”

Lilly pursed her lips in thought, and she turned to the left, her cane tapping at the edge of the walkway to ensure she kept on it. “I believe we came from this direction, but I’m afraid I’m not exactly sure where. Hisao has a knack for memorizing exact places, I can tell you it’s about 85 paces from here though.”

“You remember how far it is!?” Rai asked, incredulous.

“Yes. I’ve gotten into the habit of counting my paces from most places, it helps me in many things in life.” Lilly said, smiling.

“What other stuff do you do that for?”

“Well, for instance, I count the steps from the entrance to Hisao and I’s apartment to the stairs, heading slightly to the left. Then, I count the steps heading up each set, about 8, then I turn and head up to the next one. Two sets of stairs brings us to the next floor, so do that a 4 times and we’re at our floor. I’d love to take the elevator more often, but it’s a bit hard to know which number I’d push. Luckily, Hisao is usually with me, and he takes care of that.”

“Oh, I understand. Hey! We’re here!”

Rai thumped on the trunk of her car as a sign of it, and Lilly simply smiled as she nodded her head. Rai watched as she lowered her arm carrying her bags to the ground, bending over to do so. Rai couldn’t help but look at how her stomach muffin-topped over her tight waistband, and was happy for her friend to have some new clothing that would actually fit comfortably. Lilly folded her cane, still bent over, and slipped it into the bag. As she strained to straighten up, she grunted and her stomach pushed against its confines. Rai stared as Lilly stretched, and she could swear that her pants actually had given past the snapping point, but the retracted as Lilly sighed and lowered herself into her normal posture.

“Shall we be off?” Lilly asked.

“Oh, umm, yea.” Rai shook her head, trying to straighten out her thoughts. She had no attraction to Lilly, at least not in that way, but there was something about the newly overweight woman that simply drew her eye. She didn’t feel guilty about inspecting the other woman, though she knew she probably should, instead she felt as if she was merely a watcher. She sat in the car, on top of her trusty phonebook, and twisted to deposit her dress into the back seat. She then watched as her friend got into the car as well.

Lilly had opened the back and placed her bags in the back before approaching the front. She opened the car door, which brushed her stomach as she did causing her to let out a small “Oop!” She sat down in the car and patted the top of her belly, closing the door before twisting and applying the seatbelt. Rai noticed how the belt rested between her rather endowed chest before Lilly snapped the belt closed. Not for the first time, Rai glanced at her own chest and wished that she could have the problem of not having fitting bras to wear.

“Rai, do you know what time it is?” Lilly asked, bringing Rai out of her mental state.

“Oh, umm, it’s about 4:15.” She replied.

“Hmm, would you like to have dinner together before the class tonight?” Lilly said, turning slightly towards the smaller woman.

“That sounds lovely. Oh! I know just the spot!” Rai turned her keys and the engine came to life.

“Where will we be going?” Lilly asked, curiously.

“I know this awesome Sushi bar nearby, it’s amazing. You’ll love it!” Rai said excitedly. “Their prices are a bit bleh, but I figure we can splurge a bit today, it’s not every day two cute girls get cute clothing.” Rai said jokingly, causing Lilly to laugh.

“My my, so modest.” Lilly replied, her hand over her smiling face. “It’s been some time since I’ve gone for sushi. It sounds wonderful.”

“It’s great! It’s one of my favorite places.” Rai said.

A few minutes passed in silence between the girls as Rai flicked on the radio and flipped through stations.

“’Sales of the Xbox-’ ‘Snowden’s flight contributes to the growing amnesty between-’ ‘Cyrus’s new hit single ‘Wrecking b-’’ ‘‘Huge! She’s going to be so large, bigger than she’s ever been depicted!’ says Godzilla director, Ryuhei Kitamura, about the new American film slatted to be released next year.’”

“Ugh, I hate listening to the news.” Rai grumbled.

“Do you have any music you prefer to listen to?” Asked Lilly.

“Yea… kinda. I dunno I’m not sure if you’d be that into it.” Rai said, a bit embarrassed.

Lilly just smiled though, “I am more than happy to listen to anything you choose.”

“Okay… don’t say I didn’t warn you though.” Rai flipped the button on the radio over to her CD player. The car was instantly filled with the introductory guitar rift to the song Rai had left off on. Rai watched as Lilly smiled to the calm guitar and bit her lip as Lilly visibly flinched when the rift doubled down on strength in electric form. However, instead of stopping the song, she knew Lilly would not allow herself to back off, and she might as well enjoy her favorite sound on the track. She began to bob her head to the heavy drums in the back.

8 minutes and one ‘And Justice for All’ track play through later, the girls arrived at the sushi bar. Rai turned off the car, smiling after managing to get into the beat of the music and actually managing to sing along to a bit despite her early embarrassment.

Lilly, for her early show of discomfort, had at least made a show of being interested and had actually laughed at Rai’s high pitched impression of the singer at the end of the song.

“You know, I should show you that song in an acoustic style, I think you might actually like that.” Said Rai as the girls got out of the car.

“Hmm, another time, perhaps.” Lilly replied, smiling still. “Rai, I don’t feel like going through my bag for my cane. Do you mind?”

“No, of course not.” Rai said, locking the car. Then she saw Lilly holding out her arm for her to take, finally grasping what she actually had meant. “OH! Oh yea. Umm it’s right this way.”

The two girls, arm in arm, crossed the small lot and enter into the sushi bar.

A waitress, after curiously looking them over, seated them. Rai noticed that they walked past several tables for two that were empty and clean to get to the booth, but decided the reasoning was probably not what she thought it was. Sure, Lilly was a bit big, but she wasn’t so huge or anything. The girls sat at the booth, and Rai found herself inspecting her friend once more. She couldn’t be THAT heavy, could she? Rai thought to herself. The waitress returned and poured them glasses of water. She looked at Lilly’s chest, resting on her stomach which seemed to be touching the table. These booths are kinda small though… she also looked at Lilly’s double chin, which seemed to be almost constantly on her chubby face. It added a sense of cherubic-ness to her. Eighty kilograms, Rai guessed. She can’t  possibly be more… Right?

“Rai?” Lilly asked.

“Huh, what? Sorry, I spaced out there for a moment.”

Lilly giggled, causing her chest to bounce and sending a chain reaction to the rest of her. “That’s alright, Hisao does that quite often. The Ms. here asked if you’d like anything to drink.”

“Oh, yea! I’ll have a glass of litchi sake, and one for my companion as well.”

“You want sake?” Lilly asked.

“Yea! This place has good stuff, you have to try it.” Rai exclaimed.

“Oh, well alright, I’ll take your word.” Lilly said, although nervously. “Truth be told, I’ve never had sake.”

“Actually,” the waitress interrupted. “Have you two been here before?”

“I have, but it’s her first time.” Rai said, indicating her guest.

“Ah, welcome Madam.” The waitress said, bowing towards Lilly.

“Thank you. Do you folks happen to have a braille menu?”

“Oh, I’m so sorry, I did not notice.” The waitress said, inclining her head again, stopping hallway when she realized the fruitfulness of the action. “Regrettably, we do not. What I wished to offer you two, though, is that you can purchase the bottle of Sake for a lesser price than having multiple glasses, if you intend to have more than a glass each.”

Rai was about to deny her when Lilly spoke up “That sounds wonderful, we’ll do that.”

“Thank you, madams’. I will return shortly for your orders.”

The waitress walked off, and Rai quickly addressed Lilly. “Do you think we can finish the whole bottle? I mean I still have to drive us to class.”

Lilly smiled reassuringly. “I’m sure we’ll be fine, you don’t have to drink much if it pleases you.”

Rai shifted a bit uncomfortably, but said nothing more. A server stopped by their table with two glasses and a bottle, which he untopped and poured them each a glass before bowing and leaving. Lilly wrapped her fingers delicately around the glass and raised it to her nose, taking a whiff. “Oh, you can really smell the Litchi. How strong is the alcohol?” Lilly asked.

Rai glanced at the bottle, “It says it’s about 10% proof.”

“Oh my.” Lilly said. She took a sip, which turned into a drink, and then into a gulp as she sucked down the sweet alcohol. “That’s delicious!” she said to Rai, who had sipped at her own glass. Rai smiled fondly at the other girl, who was already taking another drink. “I can definitely taste the alcohol though. I might be drinking just a bit more than you.” Lilly said, chuckling.

Rai rolled her eyes, but laughed. “Yea, just a bit. Would you like help picking out your order?”

“Yes, please.” Lilly said.

Rai went through the menu with her, each girl oooing and ahhing at all the different tasty foods. After a while, they had both decided on meals to get, and by the time the woman came back Lilly was pouring herself a second glass. They placed their orders with the woman, with Lilly ordering a few extra pieces with her meal. “Sushi is never quite filling to me.” She had told the waitress.

For a time after, they simply enjoyed each one another’s conversation, the server bringing them each a bowl of soup to drink before their meal. Lilly told her about a time where Hisao had taken her to a Sushi buffet, and had somehow thought that bringing his blind fiancé to a place where you need to see the food rolling past to grab it was a good idea. He’d kept forgetting what things were called and kept calling things all the wrong names until he had decide on calling them all ‘fish dishes.’

“You know,” Lilly continued as their laughter died down. “For never having it before, this sake is actually very tasty. What fruit was it? Litchi?”

“Yea, litchi.” Rai repeated back to her. She watched as Lilly finished her second glass, with herself only being half done with her first. Rai knew how well she held alcohol, so she’d decided to go easy on it.

“Normally I much prefer wine,” Lilly said, pouring herself another glass. “Hisao and I have red wine some nights, it’s good for his heart and all.”

“His heart?” Rai asked. “Is there something wrong with it?”

“Oh, for some reason I just assumed you’d known.” Lilly said. “He has a heart condition, arrhythmia. He’s been very good at keeping it in check though, I made him promise to take his medication daily but the doctors told him last year he might not need to take it at all with how he’s gone running daily. They told him his hearts in the best condition possible, you should have heard how proud he was hehe.” Lilly giggled blissfully.

“Wine is actually my favorite drink too.” Rai said back. The woman server returned and placed their food in front of them. “I’ve always dreamed of going to Paris one day and having wine straight from the spot.”

“Ooo, a wanderer at heart?” Lilly asked coyly. The server left, and Lilly cracked opened up her chopsticks. Rai noticed how deftly the woman used her fingers to maneuver them around a piece of salmon and rice before hesitating. “Can you pass me any soy sauce, Rai?”

“Yea, for sure.” Rai responded. “Here, I’ll pour us each a bowl.” Rai did so, sliding the bowl to Lilly, who happily dunked her sushi into the bowl before plopping the piece into her mouth, her mouth spread in a wide grin as she chewed. “And I’m not really that adventurous, though I sort of wish I was. To see the world would be wonderful, especially a city as beautiful as Paris.”

Lilly hummed happily as she ate. “Yes, the city does sound quite the sight.”

“It’s so much more than sight though, I’m sorry I didn’t-”

“You’re fine.” Lilly said, cutting her off with a giggle. “What do you mean though?”

“Well, it’s the city of love, right? The sight would be great, sure, but just imagine all of the sounds and the smells and just the whole… ugh it just sounds wonderful. I’ve wanted to go since I was a girl.” Rai said.

“It does sound quite magnificent.” Lilly responded, taking another deep drink. “I’d love to try wine straight from the vineyard.”

“You and Hisao should go someday, I bet you two would love it!” Rai said.

“Hmm, I’d have to think about it.” Lilly replied, still smiling at her younger companion’s excitement.

They finished their meals shortly after, and Rai managed to finish her glass and about half of another as Lilly finished the rest of the bottle. Their server came over to them and asked the two woman if they’d like anything of the dessert menu.

“Oh, no thank you.” Lilly replied. Rai knew she was most likely thinking about earlier, judging from the other woman’s face. “I’ve had too many sweets today as it is.” She said, confirming Rai’s suspicion. She looked at Lilly, pursing her lip.

“And you, Ms?”

“Hmmm… I’d like too, but if my friend here refuses than I must as well.”

“You don’t have to-” Lilly started.

“It’s fine.” Rai replied. “I think I can live without a scoop of ice cream.”

“Now that’s not fair.” Lilly said, pouting at Rai. She then quickly turned to the waitress, and Rai could see the table actually push into her midsection as she sat forward and twisted. “We’ll have one scoop, each. I’d like green tea, please.” Lilly told the waitress.

“In that case, I’ll have red bean.” Rai said, smiling.

The two woman ate their ice cream, with Rai noticing a smile taking over Lilly’s face as she happily licked at it, knowing she’d made the right call. Who cares about her weight? She thought to herself. As long as she’s happy.

They finished their meals and after some slight arguing over how to pay for it, each girl wanting to cover for the other, they decided to split it and head to class.

Lilly was a little light headed. She’d had a few glasses of the sake, which when she’d first ever drank would have probably put her out for the night, but now was barely pushing her into the tipsy range.

I guess I have this to thank for that now, don’t I? She questioned to herself as her hand fell upon her middle. They walked into the building which held their class, Lilly using her cane to guide the way.

The dinner with Rai was extremely pleasant. She very much enjoyed the other girls company, even though she seemed to find herself snacking more and more around her. Ice cream certainly seemed to be a favored treat, having had two different types today alone.

It was on this thought that a scent that was permeating the air was caught by Lilly. She sniffed the scent, having smelled it many times before.

“Is something wrong?” Rai asked her friend.

“No, I smell… wine?” Lilly responded, the scent growing heavier as they walked towards the class.

They were right outside the doors to the class when Lilly heard them open and the scent fully washed over her. There were all different sorts of scents, meaning many different sorts of wine inside. The girls entered the room, and Lilly heard Rai gasp.

“There’s so many bottles.” She breathed.

“Ah, Lilly, and Rai! Welcome, you two!” Kim heartily greeted them. In a moment, she felt herself pulled into the huge woman’s arms as she hugged her. Lilly returned the hug, and was again amazed at how large the woman must be as she felt herself be enveloped by her.

At least I know I’ll never be THAT big. Lilly thought to herself, although she quickly realized that sounded more like a hope than a sure thing.

“Good evening, Kim.” Lilly responded. She heard a slight ‘Glah,’ and was sure Rai was being pulled into a hug from the overweight woman as well.

“Hi Kim.” She said, muffled as she spoke against the other woman.

“Where’s Hisao?” Kim asked Lilly, turning to her. “Not that I mind having my two favorite assistants here together.” She said, jovially.

“He wasn’t able to make it tonight, so Rai is attending as my guest. He’s just been brought on as a coach for our school’s track team.” Lilly said. The scent of the wine was extremely strong to her, and she deeply inhaled. “Is that scent what I think it is?”

“You must have smelled this a mile of.” Kim said jokingly. “Tonight is actually supposed to be a couple’s night theme to the class. Each pair of you folks is going to be able to cook a dish or two from a list, and you’ll be free to indulge yourself in some… entertainment, provided for the class.”

“Oh,” Lilly said, now disappointed to not be sharing this with her husband. The scent of wine was almost overpowering though, and she felt her mouth slightly water at the prospect of tasting some. “Well in that case, I may need a few extra glasses to forget that you’re not my husband, Rai.” She joked, placing her hand to her cheek as she laughed.

Rai muttered something quietly, most likely embarrassed and increasing Lilly’s laughter at the poor girl’s expense.

“What about the cost, Kim?” Lilly asked “This sort of thing could certainly not be cheap.”

“Bah,” Kim replied. “Don’t worry about that, the initial cost of the course covers everything and you adults need to remember not to take so much pressure all the time. Have a little fun, let your hair down. It’s going to be a great night.”

With that, she hear the overweight woman turn and walk away, her feet plodding against the tiled surface.

“I can’t even picture you with your hair down.” Rai said to Lilly, the smile in her face evident as they walked to the station.

Lilly laughed. “Actually, this bow of mine is quite lucky. Even Hisao has benefited from its luck more than once.”

The memory of a night with her bow tied around his eyes flooded back to the woman, and despite herself she found herself becoming a bit aroused.

You could use the extra luck now, Lilly thought to herself, given how you’re holding your pants together with a rubber band.

As they set up their area, Rai could not get the image of Hisao with a giant bow in his hair out of her head.

“Is this the list of choices?” Lilly asked, touching a piece of paper on the countertop.

“Hmm, it looks like it.” Rai said. “Here, I’ll read off the choices. Wow, there’s actually a lot on here. Let’s see. The choices are, brownies. Oatmeal/raisin cookies, ick. Banana flavored ice cream? That’s a thing?” Lilly giggled and popped the cork to a wine bottle. She began pouring glasses

“Right.” Said Rai, glancing up and taking her glass, her eyes then turning back to the paper. “Umm, there’s a few pies. Cherry pie. Apple pie. Blueberry pie.”

“Ooo, blueberry pie sounds lovely.” Lilly said.

“Okay, blueberry pie it’ll be then!” Rai said, lowering the list.

“No, we have to make two things. One for each of us.” Lilly replied. She took a deep drink of the wine, and Rai could see it was almost a fourth gone after one simple drink from the chubby woman.

“Hmm, okay. Ooo, down lower on the list, there’s something here called ‘Death by Chocolate.’ I’ll have that, then.” Lilly stifled a giggle, which made Rai slightly blush. The girls quickly set off to work gathering materials and ingredients that they’d need to make their dishes to be ready for before Kim gave her opening welcome to the group.

A few short hours later, the two girls walked at a slightly uneven pace from the building, both giggling at themselves. Rai had only had two glasses of wine at the beginning of class, and had opted out of anymore, but that hadn’t stopped her partner from finishing more than an entire bottle by herself. Lilly’s navigational cane was much more for steadiness tonight, it seemed, as the intoxicated woman swayed and waddled from the building towards Rai’s car while carrying her souvenir, an extremely grand smelling blueberry pie. Rai noticed multiple other pairs having the same issue, with more than a few wives leaning on their husbands for support.

Rai prayed that the larger girl didn’t try to do the same to her.

She walked more evenly than Lilly, although she knew she was a bit tipsy herself. Lilly was laughing for no apparent reason, and Rai had to direct her to the cars spot exactly. Rai, carrying a giant bowl of the most appetizing thing to grace the planet, a bowl of five layers of chocolate, was having a difficult time as it was, but she was having fun. She placed the bowl on top of the car and helped Lilly sit into the car, the heavier woman plopping down into the seat causing the car to bounce slightly on its wheels. Rai watched her buckle herself, hiccupping, before she went to her side and entered the car, turning the keys in the ignition as she sat down.

She then exited the car, grabbed the bowl off the top, then reentered, hoping Lilly and the rest of the class were all a bit too drunk to notice or care.

The drive to Lilly’s apartment was short, and rather quiet. Rai was almost afraid that Lilly had fallen asleep when the larger woman perked up when they parked. “Rai, you must come upstairs and have a glass with me and Hisao, I won’t accept a no.”

“I don’t know Lilly, it’s getti-”

“I’ll cut you a slice of piieee.” Lilly said, tauntingly waving the dish. Rai laughed, and agreed to go up to the room.

The two girls entered the lobby and decided to take the elevator, because, as Rai put it, 'There’s no way we’re climbing up all those flights with all these clothes.'

“You’re on the fifth floor, right?” Rai asked as they entered the elevator.

“Mhmm, that’s correct.” Lilly responded.

“Well, you could take the elevator more then. It’s the fifth button down, and there’s a little plastic bump on that one as well as the first floor buttons. See?” She took Lilly’s hand and guided it to the buttons.

Lilly was silent for a few moments before she burst out in a fit of laughter, with Rai joining her a moment after.

“You know, if I didn’t love him so much, I’d hate that man.”

Lilly could tell that the house was empty before she opened the door. Her head may have been foggy, but a woman knows her home.

“Hmm, he must still be out. Guess that means more for us.” She said with a wink towards Rai, and she walked giggling towards her kitchen across the room.

“Wow, you guys have a cozy place.” Rai said, walking over from the front room. Lilly knew she was just being kind, it was a four room apartment with a front/living room, a kitchen off of that, and a short hallway leading to their bedroom, bathroom, and a small storage space. She tried to imagine it how Rai must see it, but then found herself giggling at the thought of everything looking giant to the tiny woman. She imagined what she herself must look like to her, a fairly tall woman with hair reaching down past the small of her back, who probably looked like a swollen sausage crammed into not enough space. Lilly could feel the pants digging into her stomach, and she knew that her tight sweater was probably not leaving much to the imagination. But at that moment, Lilly couldn’t find herself caring about that, instead she was just pleased to have some clothes that actually fit and that she was about to have a slice of a delicious smelling pie. Lilly grabbed two plates as well as glasses, and a bottle of wine for the two to enjoy.

The song from a phone sprang into the room. “Ah, that’s me. Mom? Hang on Lilly, I have to take this.”

“Don’t worry, take your time.” Lilly replied. She began cutting the pie, feeling the crust with her fingers and she felt her stomach rumble hungrily at the prospect of the tasty treat. She then began to pour herself a glass of the wine. Lilly couldn’t remember the flavor, instead just happy to have any sort of indulgence with her friend. She didn’t want this night to end.

“Hey, Lilly?” Rai had called out from near the front door. “Don’t pour my glass, I have to call it a night, I’m sorry. My mom’s called me about my baby sister, says it’s an emergency and I need to come right away but won’t say what it’s about.”

“Oh. Oh, that’s unfortunate. You have to leave right away?” Lilly replied.

“Yea, I better. They live about an hour from here, and it’ll be almost 10pm by the time I get there. But hey, I’ll make sure to have some ‘Death by Chocolate’ tonight. I have to make it up to my stomach for missing out on your blueberry pie.”

“Haha, good.” Lilly laughed. “We wouldn’t want you to get too skinny after all.”

“Perish the thought.” Rai replied sarcastically.

Lilly felt the other woman press herself against her and hugged her in return. She wondered if Rai thought of her like she had thought of Kim earlier.

“Here, you have a phone, right?” Rai asked, separating the hug. “Let me give you my number.”

Lilly felt around her pocket before remembering that she left her phone at home because she couldn’t fit it in the tight pants. “It’s over on the table by the couch.” She told Rai.

Rai fetched the phone, and Lilly heard the familiar narration of the phone that allowed her to use it without having to see the screen. She heard Rai enter the number, the phone spelling it out loud, but Lilly wasn’t exactly able to focus on all the numbers. Thank God I don’t teach Math… she thought to herself.

“There, I texted myself too, so I’ll have your number as well.” Rai wrapped her arms around Lilly again, and took her hand, giving her the phone. “Goodnight Lilly, thanks for everything.”

“It’s been my pleasure.” Lilly returned. “Goodnight.”

The two woman separated, and Lilly, disappointed, slumped into the kitchen chair. She could still make out the smell of the pie and of the wine, which seemed to grab at her even more now that she was alone. God, I miss Hisao. I hope he gets home soon. I might as well eat this slice though… It’d be a shame if it went to waste and the pie got too cool. Lilly thought. Then, an idea struck her. Ooh, I know what I’ll do. I’ll eat this slice and wait up for him, and I might as well drink this cup too. I’m sure he’d appreciate me staying up late for him.

Lilly smiled to herself and bit into the first bite of the pie. It tasted heavenly. It’d been so long since she’d tasted blueberries, before she’d started baking, and her taste buds fired off in every direction. The sweetness of the juices spread through her mouth the a tidal wave, and before she realized it she was taking a second bite, then a third, and it seemed like within moments the piece was gone. Lilly felt a burp rise in her stomach and let out a belch, reflexively saying “Excuse me” even though the room was empty.

“Oof, I shouldn’t eat so fast.” She said to herself. She took a sip of wine, and the familiar flavor made her smile in content. She placed her hand on top of her stomach. I could have another piece, she thought to herself. I mean, I might as well, as I’m waiting.

Lilly cut herself another piece of pie.

Hisao returned home after hours of hard work. And boy, did those kids need it.

He had decided that the best way to learn is to get right to it, and had taken the students in different shifts. First, he had worked with the sprinters, running them down the track again and again. Many of them had problems getting the acceleration off of the blocks, and he drilled them over and over on it, telling them that launching themselves forward had to become as easy as breathing.

That was their other problem, breathing while sprinting was not something that came natural to most people and it is easy to become light headed. He and Yuki even ran alongside them for some of the sprints, while the other track students cheered from the side, although he noticed Yuki quickly became winded from the effort.

Next, he worked with the hurdlers, who amazed him in the worst possible way. The coordination for them was extremely off, with many of them hitting at least one hurdle throughout the race. One student had apparently developed the strategy of simply plowing through every single hurdle, knocking them all down as he went and continuously falling, only to launch back up and into the next one. He came in third. In an 8 man race.

Hisao made the judgement call to put him with the sprinters.

After that came the relay racers, who Yuki swore were the pride and joy of the entire team. Hisao separated the kids into two groups of 4, and instructed them they’d have to do an 8 lap race, two each. The losers would have to run the entire 8 laps again after the race ended. He had to give it to the kids, they gave it their all, and a two mile race is nothing to sneeze at, but one team was able to gain a clear victory in the end over the other. The losing team patted their guy on the back, telling him it was a good finish, and were about to start running when Hisao called them in and told them they were done for the evening, and to remember that that teamwork they all showed was a lot more important than simply beating out the other team. The kids, with an audible sigh of relief, joined the others on the benches.

Hisao then went over to the teams and dismissed all but the long distance runners, who he told he had a special exercise for. He instructed them all to take their last sips of water and then to follow him. What followed was almost four hours of jogging, with Yamada tailing them in his pick-up (“Authentically American,” he’d sworn.), and picking up the stragglers and taking them back to the school. Most of the kids had dropped out at various points in town, with one of the first simply stopping at his house as they passed saying, “See ya!” but there were a few that stuck through it for the entire time. Hisao and that group of 5 kids had run for miles, making it all the way to the summit area of a nearby mountain, where they were able to rest and see the beautiful backdrop of the city shining in the dark, as well as the stars shining down from above. Yuki had told them that he was so proud of all of them for continuing on like they did, and insisted to taking all them, Hisao included, out to dinner. He and Hisao shared in a few beverages, while the kids made short work of the buffet they’d attended until the owners had to close shop for the night. Yuki and Hisao dropped the kids off at their houses, and Yuki finished up the night dropping Hisao himself off.

As Hisao made to get out of the car, he felt Yuki’s hand on his arm, stopping him. “I want to say, thank you. Really.”

“It’s no pro-” Hisao began.

“Now hang on, let me finish.” Yuki continued. “Those kids have been getting bored as hell with me trying to teach them anything about this, which I have no clue honestly. A lot of those kids joined up because they knew it’d be an easy credit, but you’ve really shown the ones who actually give a shit what they can do, and that they can really get through this by sticking together. I don’t know if you noticed, but going up that mountain, one of the kids, Victor, kept falling back. Instead of leaving him, the others matched his pace and brought him back up again before you had the chance to turn and see what was happening. That means something to these kids, and I know you as a teacher know that.”

Hisao smiled. This is why he became a teacher, this was the feeling that he so enjoyed and wanted to share and pass onto others. “Thank you, Yuki, for telling me. It’s my pleasure. I promise not to run them all too ragged though haha, we’ve gotta take on that other school Saturday. What are they?”

“You don’t know our rival school?” Yamada asked, incredulous.

“I haven’t really been that involved in team stuff since I’ve started.” Hisao said, a bit embarrassed.

“It’s that Catholic school a few miles east of us. St. Mary’s. Their track coach is a monster. Every time we meet, I’m more afraid for her students than I am ours hahaha.” Yuki laughed, a big hearty laugh.

“Well I can’t wait to see what she’s like when we wipe the floor with her.” Hisao said, grinning. He stuck out his hand and Yuki took it, and the squeezed each other’s for a moment before they broke away and Hisao left the car, closing the door behind him.

Hisao headed into the building, opting to take the elevator over the stairs on account of his legs and arms feeling like they were about to fall off. The kids weren’t the only ones who gave it their all tonight. Hisao hadn’t run that long in… well, ever. He’d though about doing marathons a few times, but he’d always been content with spending the day with his wife relaxing and just being with one another.

Although I’m sure there’d be a fair amount of eating if we were to have some freetime with one another. Hisao thought to himself.

He was excited to see how the class had gone for his wife and for Rai, as well as her shopping.

Hisao could see the light coming from below his apartment from the dimmed hallway. Although that didn’t necessarily mean Lilly was awake, given how easily she could simply not notice she left lights on, he had his hopes that she was.

He opened the door, and the sight before him was something he could have never thought to wish for.

Sitting in her usual chair, easily visible from the entrance, was Lilly. But there’s no way that could be her, there was just no way. The woman Hisao was looking at had a stomach so engorged, her sweater was halfway up her stomach and bunching up beneath her breasts. Her naval was on full show as she quietly moaned to herself, hands resting on top of her massive self. Her face, too, showed signs of her feast, with her mouth covered it what was a blue, almost violet looking color.

“Hissssao? Izzat you?” she quietly asked.

“Lilly? Hey, Angel. Are you okay?” Hisao moved forward towards his wife, and he could see that she had even split her pants at the seams, her milky white thighs bunched in and trying to escape their prison.

“Just… tired.” She said through heavy breaths. Hisao could see the table clearly now, an empty pie tin and an empty wine bottle told him all he needed to know. Though, it seemed Lilly had, at one point, given up on using her plate, and begun eating from the pie tin itself. Her swollen middle had burst through her pants, and Hisao could see what looked like the remains to a rubber band in the button hole.

Hisao bent over and kissed his wife on the forehead. It didn’t take an expert to see that she had stress eaten through her meal, little beads of sweat were on her forehead in the verge of her long mane of hair.

“I think… I ate… a bit too much. Oomph.” Lilly said, covering her mouth as she groaned.

“Just a bit.” Hisao said, chuckling. “Come on,” he said as he bent over and wrapped his arms around his wife’s middle and her legs. “Let’s get you to bed.”

Hisao heaved upwards, lifting with his legs, and managed to pick up his heavily weighed down wife as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Oof, careful.” She said, and gave a soft burp. She buried her head into Hisao’s neck as he strained to carry her, although he made a point to make sure no sound escaped him. “Ugh, I must be quite the sight, aren’t I?”

Hisao didn’t respond, smelling her breath heavily laden with alcohol.

“I can’t even imagine what I look like now… To think, you used to carry me around like this when I was so much smaller. Hiccup!” Lilly hiccupped, her whole body jerking, and Hisao had to pause to readjust his grip. He was right outside their room now though, another few feet and… there! Hisao lowered the woman onto the bed, and she uncoiled, sinking deeper into the mattress.

“What do you mean by that?” Hisao asked, with a slight pant that he hoped she didn’t pick up on.

“Look at me, Hisao! I’m huge!” She grabbed her stuffed stomach, jiggling it for affect and making the entire bed shake and creak. “Oooo,” she moaned. “Bad idea bad idea bad idea… My measurements are enormous now though… I’ve gained so much weight, I’ve gone up over ten dress sizes. I used to fit into a size 2! Except for these.” She said, and she grabbed her breasts over the sweater, pushing them together. “But now, I couldn’t fit into a size 12…” she said, and her arms slumped to her sides.

Hisao sat down on her side, placing one hand on her engorged stomach. He noticed, with some relief, how flushed her cheeks were, and that she was probably just talking without really thinking. Which meant he could say some things too…

“That’s what you’re worried about?” He asked her. Lilly hiccupped as he patted her stomach. “You’re worried you’ve gotten a little round around the middle?”

“It’s not a little…” she said quietly, although she now had her eyes closed and her head tilted back. She moaned a bit, Hisao pressing deeper into her stomach. She gasped as he pinched her fat in his fingers.

“I think you look quite beautiful, actually.” Hisao said, and lowered himself over her, kissing her stomach. She purred in content, and he felt her hands glide to his head, petting at his hair. He lifted his head, putting himself over her chest to look down at her. She tilted her head towards him, deepening her double chin. His fingers massaged her stomach, and he watched as she swayed with his movements. “I happen to adore the way you look now as much as the day I met you, love.”

Lilly opened her eyes for a moment before letting her head fall back into the pillow, and Hisao could feel her pushing her stomach forward into his palm. “Ugh… that feels so nice… I don’t know… I kinda just like eating.” Lilly said, eyes closed and tilted back. “It just feels good to be so full… I know that doesn’t ma-”

Hisao cut her short, leaning down and kissing her lips even as he pinched her sides into love handles. He could taste the blueberries on her mouth still, and he removed his shirt, using it to wipe her face clean. She smiled and curled up against him.

“You take such good care of me.” She told him.

“You always have of me too.” He said. He kept massaging her stomach until he heard the gentle breathing of her falling asleep, knowing that he’d have to save his lust for another night.
