Wanna see something that looks really mundane but made me cry? Getting this notification on my phone:

It took my mom 16 minutes ("It would have taken 12 if my internet wasn't so slow!") to book a flight to LA and on my birthday, November 1st, I will get to see my mom for the first time in over two years.

I am a very experienced crier, but as my mom sent over her flight details I truly made noises I've never made before. Imagine the sound of an animal in distress/child on a rollercoaster/neighbor getting it on/broken gas motor and you're close to the crying sounds of a very happy daughter who has missed her mom very very much.

Only problem: I don't have anywhere to put her. Apologies for talking about my mom like she's a can of beans, but I live in a one bedroom house with a terrible couch, and I grow cranky very fast if I don't have my own space. So with a fast-approaching deadline, I decided that the most feasible (and fun) solution would be to buy a vintage camper.

The interior when I bought it

I named her Campla, and she's currently employed as a guesthouse in my garden. Every moment I'm not working, I've been fixing stuff in the camper. Between the house, the workshop, and Campla, I have more spaces to work on than I know what to do with, and choosing between build projects feels something like this:

I might make a video about improving Campla down the line, but for now I need to move too fast to film. I have a very important guest arriving in only 19 days! She's the most easy-going person I know, but I still want everything to be perfect when she gets here. Because, you know, if just the thought of her arriving here makes me feral cry, can you imagine what it'll feel like when I actually get to hug her?

XOXO

P.S. I have two videos coming out this month! One featuring this very solid (non-halloween) look:

You are the most awesome daughter with the most awesome mother! That "nice space, now let's improve it!" and then building together was so lovely!
