WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE USELESS THINGS
...because it‘s the title of my TED talk and it’s slowly eating up all the CPU of my brain. Only two weeks to go. Slow breaths.

GETTING A WORKSHOP
Ah man! Long overdue. Checking the listings every day. I can’t believe I’ve been working out of my house for this long. The thing that really worries me is that it doesn’t bother me that much anymore. It seems like a lot of YouTubers become house hermits, is this how it happens?? Help.

THIS PORTRAIT

What. Have. I. Done. To. Deserve. This.

MEDITATION
Guru Giertz speaking. If you can take some time out of your day, go pay Michael Sealey a visit. Some of his guided mediation sessions are not hitting home for me, but this one does it.

MY JAW LINE

No, I have not had any work done. It’s very natural.

THE WEIRDNESS OF GETTING HELP
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. My friend Marcos has started helping me with some builds, and I’ve noticed all kinds of weird thoughts popping up. Like: are people going do think I don’t know how to build stuff since I’m getting help? Is it still ”my“ project even if I get help with welding some joints? Are people going to think that I have gotten help building previous projects too, and just not been transparent about it?

I feel like I’m still operating from a mindset of thinking that everybody is questioning my skills, and in my head I’m always scared that people are going to think that there’s some dude behind me doing all the work. I’m always downplaying being a woman in a male-dominated field but I think this might be a result of that. I mean, it’s not like I go through the same thought turmoil when Scott helps me answer emails...

WHAT HAPPENED HERE?

I’m not sure. Maybe just a little thing we made and filmed yesterday. Will be up mid-April 🏁

OK, I think the last photo can now be related to the lazy susan snack orbit. From the video, it's clear you wanted to publish it right before TED conference. I'm partly happy, as that didn't spoil the talk and that build was a premiere for the live TED audience. In order of importance, and that's just a summary of what others already said: 1. Condolences to your finger 2. I'd devote that kiss to Nancy and Vicki for saving the Queen. 3. YAY 4. Microwave dinners are ideal for tiny hands (micro - wait for it - wave) 5. It looks f***ing fierce AND it looks like the future. 6. You can't top Scotts suggestion about the best-related song "Around the girl" 7. You can do whatever you want, as long as you stay in the circle. 8. The next round is on me.
