Progress of the new update! (Patreon)

In the previous post I said release date might be right about now, but as you can see this post is titled "Progress of the new update!" and not "0.87 update released!", so unfortunately some of the things are taking a bit longer than I expected. As before I can give you a refund if you aren't satisfied with the development progress.

So what's taking so long?

The most time consuming part turned out to be the personality modules. The code for dialogues was actually extremely old as it was written around the first release of the game. After all those updates it was continually expanded on to add things such as reactions for kisses or headpats and this code wasn't pretty(in fact it was very ugly). In the end I decided to rewrite the entire thing almost from scratch. This rewrite took a lot of time, but is now almost complete. The new system is quite modular and as I said before I plan to allow modders to add their own personality modules(along with new events). That might not be fully complete for this release, but lot of the required code is ready!

This isn't the only part of the game's code that was rewritten though. I decided to implement a changing room in the clothier shop to let you try new clothes. It was a decently popular option in the last poll and something that was planned and requested for a long time. It's a bit similar to the equipment screen, but you can buy and try on things from Annalie's shop. Check out the attached gif's to see how it looks. How is that related to rewriting the code? I rewrote a big chunk of the code related to handing displaying items. The search bar, sorting and folders will now be available in all shops. Empty folders will no longer be displayed, reducing clutter. You can now also right click on items to bring up a context menu(Won't really work on mobile, but hey I made some buttons bigger for mobile players). Overall it should make managing items and searching shops easier.

In the last two images you can see how the toy sold by the company we are working with will look like. It will be available to purchase with the new update's release for I think around 95$, so stay tuned!

When will this update be released?

There are still a couple of things that need to be worked on, but I think it might be available in a couple of weeks. Meaning sometime in November.

Want some more story?

Also if you joined after last Halloween (and according to my data quite a lot of you have). You probably haven't seen the Halloween event. If you are starved for some more story launch the game, enjoy the event and get some of the unique Halloween accessories and room decorations. To trigger the event start a dialogue with the bot while those conditions are met:

• Finishing most of the dialogue while visiting clothier solo and buying a lot of clothes
• Met Annalie with bot
• Mental Health > 20%
• Day above 15
• Bot likes you
• Hour in game 7 to 20
• 10 days before or after Halloween in real life

Dialogues are random, so it might not appear on the first click. After this you will get two halloween decorations.(They appear in items->other) Try to put one on and you will get a second dialogue that activates the Halloween event.
