Great to hear you are doing the Hobbit next. Sure, not as great as LOTR... but then again nothing is lol. Many complaints about the Hobbit I can even agree with but despite that it is solid and I have come to enjoy it more and more over time. Speaking of the Hobbit I don't see your solo reaction to the second one, where is it? One small detail from LOTR at the end when they are at the harbour and Gandalf is leaving, the hobbits of course are emotional but it seems strange that Frodo isn't, which of course is foreshadowing the fact that he is leaving with him.

Crying because of something beautiful is itself beautiful :) Don't worry Magy, I don't even know how many times I've watched these movies, and they still have that kind of power. It was cool you were able to appreciate some of the filmmaking in the background as well - these movies were such a labour of love. Just another lovely reaction from you both <3

Someone once told me that the reason Gandalf had 3 eagles to save Frodo and Sam was because Gandalf thought that Sméagol might have redeemed himself and the 3rd eagle was to rescue him. That really broke me.

I absolutely hate watching Frodo leave at the end. I understand why he had to go but I just can’t stand watching Sam’s heart shatter as he watches his best friend in the whole world sail away out of his life forever. Frodo leaving was Sam’s wound that’ll truly never heal.

Ya let her not speak and not enjoy the movies next time…they both joke around knowing their friendship and I am pretty sure if Laura didn’t enjoy it she would have told her no need to tell her she ruined it for her
