This is where the show died for me, they destroyed Jamie’s whole character development by him saying he never really cared for the innocent, they destroyed 7 seasons of build up for Daenerys doing everything to save innocent lives, they destroyed Jon’s leadership and character that giving him 2 lines to repeat all season “My Queen” and “I don’t want it”, honestly they destroyed everything they build over the previous 7 seasons and the only the thing they managed to get right was The hound and the mountains fight, the writers have blood on their hands for not letting George RR Martin finish the books first

Totally agree, Hated what they did to Dany here, truly horrible writing. Credit to the cast who still did an amazing job.

It's been a good run. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You are right that her closest friends and advisors keep her mad king tendencies in check. She lost everyone. I just wish they told the story of this transition to darkness over 2-3 seasons, and I would be totally fine to arrive at the same place. It was too fast and rushed.

I don't understand your arguments here. Jaimie NEVER cared for the innocent. He had respect for certain people, but never cared for anyone else but himself, his brother, and his sister. Jon felt he was doing the right thing. Dany was ALWAYS built up to do this throughout the entire show! People only cheered for her because her rampage was against the slavers mostly, but the ruthlessness was always in her. Maybe the show was rushed a little, but it still turned out the way it was always heading towards. The only thing you are really complaining about is that the show didn't end up the way YOU wanted it to and you were just blind to all the clues that led to this moment. Sorry.

What are you talking about, Dany never once took an innocents life ruthlessly once in any of the previous seasons, how does her being ruthless against evil people show any kind of build up to her burning thousands of children alive, when she didn’t have to, the bells already rang, Jon deserved more in season 8, he spent the whole season being submissive when that is literally the opposite to who he always was, Jamie literally abandoned his sister to go and keep his promise, he stabbed the mad king in the back, to save thousands of innocent lives, he showed how much of a better person he was becoming season in season out, all to be taken away by one stupid line that should never have made it into the series. look at the backlash from literally almost everyone about how forced everything in the last season came across

I think the show probably deserved another 2 season or so because the last season felt rushed, but I don't think ANYTHING came across as being forced. Dany wanted to do lots of things along the way, but heeded her advisors until the end... when she finally snapped and said f it. Everyone just pushed her buttons until she let everyone know she was the mad king's daughter. Jaimie stabbed the mad king in the back in protest to his orders about bringing him his dad's head... so I guess there was one more person that Jaimie actually cared about. Jon became dutiful and an order follower right after his friends called him back to the night's watch instead of riding out to help his brother in battle. Sure, he had great leadership skills and cared about everyone around him, but his duty always came first. His duty was to his queen that he knelt for despite what the entire north told him to do. He was king in the north... not wanting it by the way, then decided it was in everyone's best interest to serve Dany. So that's what he was doing in this episode... being the dutiful Jon that he is by serving his queen. Sorry to say... everything in the entire series led up to this point and it was no surprise by me or anyone I know. Backlash was because people just expected something different even though it was always supposed to be this way. People were just being hopeful and wanted a "happy ending". They just weren't paying attention.
