Chris comes to a decision about his future...

Homecoming is back with an extra-large 22-page episode to help us get back into the swing of things. 😊

Chris is still having trouble coming to terms with what happened to him even after his escape. His former (and maybe future) fiancée, Kayla, is trying to help Chris cope as he tells her the horrifying story of his feminization and torment at the hands of a woman calling herself "Bella."

As always, I'd love to read your thoughts!

Part sexy, part inspirational!

Homecoming is heartbreaking. Bella is possibly your most complex monster yet, because it’s hard to identify her motivation, unless it’s sadism for its own sake. And the scenes between Chris and Kayla are almost too hard to bear. But thank you for bringing this terrific story back, Emory. And the shade in the apartment scenes with the young couple matches the mood of loss and displacement perfectly.

ooohhh i love tg brainwash in tg comics

I love that we get so many moments back in the apartment. Not only is it a nice break from, well, the misery — here's a different kind of misery; enjoy!* — but it's a reminder that Chris does eventually get out, and he has someone who loves him, and that if there's anyone I should be worrying about it's dear sweet perfect foul-mouthed Cindy. https://i.imgur.com/vfoZPmm.gif (*Tragically, I do enjoy.) Chris stiffening up when Kayla hugs him is *so* good and sad, the poor kid's dysphoric as hell. At least he gets pancakes. God, and Chris absolving Cindy of her guilt? Good man. Bad things for Bella! Very bad things! (As long as they don't, y'know, conflict with the whole feminisation thing, which is clearly a public service.) The faces, once again, blow me away. Chris' smile, plastered onto his face until Cindy leaves, and then immediately being replaced by disgust... Incredible work. Love him working it out, with the scissors. He's starting to get a step ahead of his captors. brb doing a Digital Foundry pixel count on the close-up of the screen to work out what resolution it is. And Chris! Resolving to get through it no matter what it takes! Even though he hates his body and his life! Chris, mate, you have to stop being so relatable, yr just like me fr fr (Uh, me from years ago, that is.) I'm so glad there's another one of these soon because I am HOOKED.

Wow, Emory what a great reintroduction to the Homecoming story. As Alyson says, what a great jump from the past to the future of the story. It gives the plot a very interesting complexity and narrative. Despite knowing the "now" and already knowing Chris's physical changes, it is very interesting to discover from his own account, the complexity of the psychological changes he underwent. And the reaction of his "wife"? Kayla I love this story, I think it's the most heartbreaking and hardest of the 3 graphic novels you're doing, but at the same time it has that sweet and charming touch of the "almost" newlywed couple who reunite and have to figure out where they were at, where they are at now, and where they will be in the future with all the changes and problems they bring. ...Plus solving the plot of the sadistic bitches who kidnapped him, revenge maybe? I also hope Sindy 😍 wasn't killed and reappears in the story. As always Em, great job!

the poor, he is between two .. It remains to be seen which side he will go!

Chris's revolt against those who monopolize her body and her mind is of a subtlety which is discovered even in the intimacy of her language, she is very pragmatic in her reasoning and has a very great sense of other but the other is also the woman she is. This existential crisis will pass like the night entering silently into the forest of her heart. TYEA

A welcome return x

Thank you, Ella! I'm glad you love it because I'm a big fan of it, too! 😁 For me, it's a really interesting story to explore since we know the outcome. (or do we? 😉)

Thank you, Robert! Indeed, this isn't a happy-go-lucky story. Although, oddly enough, in this case we know Chris eventually escapes, unlike with many of the other comics and characters. And yet, what Chris is experiencing is no less harrowing. Chris is going through the kinds of emotions one experiences in loss and grief, where you have to deal with the new reality of what you have now become and all the new things you must learn. He was a doctor with a bright future, and now his reality has shrunk to the size of his room. As for Bella, I think she's truly an unrepentant sadist, a truly crazy woman who is completely lacking in empathy, who enjoys her work. HOW did she become that way? Well, maybe we'll find out someday... 😊

emoryahlberg

Poor Chris is being forced to do what he's told. No washing required. In fact, that would make it less fun for Bella. 😬

Thank you, Alyson! OMG, your gif of dear Cindy is adorable! Cindy provided her full name and location. Chris said he searched for her... But maybe once she was out, she began to feel the same sort of fear Chris is experiencing and changed her identity. After all, it'd be pretty hard to go by "Dave McBride" looking like as she does now. Did she even try to return to her former life? Apparently not, because there wasn't a huge news story about a missing man who returned as a woman. I really do feel bad for Chris. Even with Kayla there, supporting him, he feels completely isolated and overwhelmed by the changes to his body. Even if he has had years to "get used to them," now that he's back out in the world it's as if they're happening all over again. But maybe it's worse now because, unlike before, he knows that he can't go back to being a man. The thought of having to present as female for the rest of his life is obviously terrifying and depressing (for him -- not for many of us reading his story 😁). But, hopefully, Chris can learn that life as a woman isn't so bad. In fact, it can be great! He just needs to take it one day at a time. But, uh, maybe one day at a time for two years or so. Bella is my most blatantly evil character so far, I think. She has true disdain / hate for the men who frequent sex workers. Chris, unfortunately, was in the wrong place at the wrong time and yet she has obviously didn't hesitate to rob him of his manhood. Then again, Bella wasn't there when Chris was taken; it was Cindy and the mysterious "Cunt." Chris is resolute and strong. He can handle what is happening to his body (to a point), but his mind is another matter. How long can he hold out? And what will happen when / if he snaps? Thank you for your amazing comment. 💖

Thanks, Maggie! We will definitely see who walked through that door in the next episode. 😊

emoryahlberg

That's an excellent way to think about Chris's plight, Erica. He's standing on the fence between acceptance and despair. We don't know where (or how) he'll land yet. If he didn't have Kayla, the answer would be sadly obvious, though.

emoryahlberg

Thank you, France! I am so happy that you're enjoying the series! Chris is such a fun character, and I can't wait for you to see the next episode. Is his identity changed forever? Will Kayla accept him as he is and keep him as her spouse? Will he come to love his new body or at least come to accept it? These questions, and many more, will be answered. 😁

Ella Cherry

Yes! I’m very much enjoying following how Chris became how he’s now, but I would also love to know about his future! And your answer only makes me more eager 😂
