Hello patrons! First, thank you for your support! It took us some time working on DiCK to get back to continuing the main story. The new navigation system took a long time, not just to make for us and test, but also now to adapt. 

DiCK was the first program I coded, so my experience programming is, even to this day, quite limited, and because of that, the game had (and has) a lot of... questionable coding. I have learned and improved, of course, but adapting and transitioning to this new format wasn't particularly easy. 

With that said, this *only* will affect the game in future quests and stories since updating all the previous content is quite beyond reach (we may as well just remake the whole game from scratch). 

Although that's not great, it's playable, and this new framework will help us add new content super easily, make it less laggy, too, and let us focus on actually making something interesting rather than just making it work. 

With that said, this update focuses on that sort of improvement plus a few main story quests, progressing toward the end of chapter two, with the idea of chapter 3 being entirely made with this new module, which excites us! 

The gameplay will be similar to that of the Ludwick 'standalone' story, which means putting significantly more detail into the world and side events, where your actions change it and let it evolve more notoriously than what we have now.

CHANGELOG

  • Ku-Liang is now walkable, like the rest of the game, after you trigger the quest 'Masks and Goblins' (this is a main story quest that you can advance just by playing the game)
  • There are four locations in Ku-Liang, with a few short events for now.
  • Four new main story quests. These will now require to visit Ku-Liang to trigger them. 
  • You can reach Ku-Liang by visiting any of the characters there and leaving the store. You can also travel by walking through the world (you get there from the Outpost that's on the border)

There are some QoL things we need to make, and those will be on in the next update, but for now, this was an important step to speed up the content and its depth.
