Final Fantasy XIV's Fanfest is over! We didn't get to go, but we livestreamed the entire thing this weekend, and the whole thing was a great experience. If you didn't know by now, Leslie and I are avid FFXIV fans, myself having leveled every single job, done every sidequest, acquired every relic, and even caught every fish. I was definitely worried about the future of the game with it now having reached the conclusion of its main story. My own personal guess was that FFXIV would just start over with a new starting point expansion to bring in new players, perhaps with a new cast and even a new playable character. But I'm honestly relieved that they didn't, and seem to just be continuing on with its current cast. My guess was based purely on what other MMOs would probably do, but I'm glad FFXIV doesn't feel inclined to do that. It's a relief knowing that my time with Eorzea isn't about to be up any time soon, and far from it. I can keep doing my Blue Mage logs, crafting my crystalline tools, and farming lockboxes in Eureka Pyros. Both Leslie and I truly love the world FFXIV has made, and the future of that world really does look brighter than ever.
