Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that we're okay! We made it to Austin safe and sound (though it took 14 hours of horribly slow-moving traffic and chaos to get there). It looks like we're actually going to be stuck here a little longer than we thought. The hurricane definitely did a number on our home state. According to family back home (who are all safe and sound), our house managed to make it through with no obvious damage. It's not impossible that there may be a leak somewhere in the house (no one could get inside to see), but the house looks perfectly intact. It IS, however, surrounded by knee-deep water, so we couldn't get back home right now if we tried. Not to mention that all of the roads leading back to Louisiana are shut down due to debris, broken powerlines, and a shortage of gas, electricity, and food. Luckily our families back home prep for this stuff and have plenty to go around, not to mention that the military is there to provide food and water. Overall, it sucks, but it looks like we're gonna get through this!

We're not quite sure how long we'll be stuck here in Austin. It sounds like they're just now starting to clear out the roads, which is a good sign! But the state is still recommending people stay away for now. And even once the roads are clear, we'd still need gas to make the trip, not to mention food to replace literally everything in our fridge which has surely ruined by now. At the very least, we have internet and food where we are. This does mean that rewards are going to be delayed a bit longer than we expected, and I want to apologize for that. And don't give me that "but hurricane!" stuff, I still want to apologize for making you wait. As soon as we get the all-clear, Leslie and I will head back home and get right back to work! In the meantime, please bear with us as we wait things out. Thank you all so much for your concern and understanding! We'll let you know when we're back home!

But hurricane! Nah, but seriously the biggest reward you can give rn is knowing you're both safe. Good to hear the house has also survived, at least on the outside anyway. Fingers crossed the waters subside soon

I'd make a comment on the apologizing, but honestly I'm just glad you're both safe and sound. Keep us posted, and keep safe, that's all we can really ask for.

Glad you all are safe! There’s some lovely wine country just westish of Austin that’s pretty to drive through if you’re into that. I hope you are able to get home soon. I know I’m always happy to get back to my space.

Thanks for the update; Glad you're okay! And I'm also pleased your new home and its furnishings and appurtenances are similarly unscathed! Take as much time as you need. There's no hurry; just stay safe.

Glad to hear y'all are okay! If you need or want some comfort food, ask around about tacos and barbecue. Or take a trip to Round Rock Donuts, they're yummy af (and they were on Man v. Food!)
