Hello there!

We’re looking for additional character writers for Hunt and Snare; Your responsibilities would be, initially, to write minor characters to populate the world with, and later on write major characters with sex acts. You are required to be able to write both straight and gay/lesbian acts if need be, including male, female, and trans characters.

This is a paid position and generally minor characters would be between 500 and 1500 words, where as major characters between 4000-10000 words. We’re expect to pay between $0.01-0.03 per word for both minor and major characters, or a lump sum if decided. Our needs are around 5000 words per month.

You have until 31st of March (end of this month!) to write a 500 word sample for us, using similar conversation structure as we have in Hunt and Snare ( see here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qC1mfFz4js-dQ8Liw00crYQSKbJCBlu3YQQ9cy0r4xk/edit?usp=sharing ). The sample does not have to be 100% accurate in terms of structure and tests, but should represent and showcase your ability to write to our requirements! Do note that indentation as described in the conversation structure is CRITICAL.

Your can use “ // comment goes here “ to comment parts of your sample to explain why you wrote something as you did, or to explain that here needs to be test for X or set Y to something else so it can be tested elsewhere.

While we won’t necessarily have time to comment on the samples; These things are important for us in the sample:

  • You write better English than Ruffle does (Ruffle wrote this post).
  • You are able to match writing of other Hunt and Snare characters in style and tone.
  • You write creatively and can expand the lore of the game with your writing without direct input from other developers.
  • Your humor, if needed in writing, is more situational and happens in the scene, instead of the scene being built to support the humor. Also, I, Ruffleneck, have a very dry humor and do not necessarily seek humor. Dialogue can be humorous, in its own way.
  • The lines of NARRATOR: and SPEAKER: (character name here) are short, and player has chance to react to situations and choices of reaction cover wider variety of things player might want to say to the person.
  • The conversation should flow naturally, without the “talker” going into monologues about things and explain stuff that would be natural to people in the world. E.g. someone especially starting to explain that strawberry is a red fruit, with small indentations cov-... Almost everyone knows what strawberry is, the more important thing would be the mention that they grow Kittyberries because they love the red berries that grow on them. For the sake of the sample, please don’t write about Kittyberries!

For delivery of the sample; Please paste your raw text to https://pastebin.com/ and copy the resulting link to the Google form, fill in your rate and other information request, and send it to us.

As mentioned earlier, you have until 31st of March!

Have a great penning day(s)!
